I was wondering why nobody had offered insight yet, but I had no idea that Bubba/Armacost/Chaves saga had infiltrated into the ASU series page. The football only folks get pissed when hockey gets brought up in those threads, this has got to be progress on that front right? Series split. We win Friday, then Hammer wins Saturday and we all complain that the GOBC didn't reel him in after his dad played here.

Green Bay losing officially dooms the Vikings to Detroit or Philly if (and that's a big time if) they win. I'll pretend that the Bucs knock off the young Commanders. Back to Detroit. I cant imagine the Vikings taking the road to the super bowl. Just no way.....

Two points in the valley of the Sun....could've been worse, could've been better. At the present time UND is 19th in the PWR, and tied for first in the all important league standings. In comes highly ranked Western that could give us a boost with wins at home. You probably aren't going to beat them without a #fullsixty. After Saturday I'd assume Hedquist in the net on Friday and we go from there. They'll likely go Rowe-Hammer like they have most of the year. I'll be happy with 4 points. Two regulation wins not likely with how this group has played this year, but I'd be okay with being surprised.

The story is 27's penalty. Can't happen. 2 points. Lucky.

I'll eat crow. Found a way to tie it.

Swept to start the 2nd half isn't ideal. We will blame the reffs though won't we.
-
You can't finish a hit like that.
-
Find a way to not get scored on right away please. Please.

People don't appreciate non conference shootout wins.

Better team is winning. Enjoy Goldy in Fargo. #fullsixty

For reference see attendance of Girls Class A quarterfinal Wednesday at the XCEL Energy Center.

I think the days of getting north of 3,000 people is gone for the boys state tournament. Last year Scheels was half full for the two GF schools, and the time before when it was RR and Davies (most populated school in EDC) it was maybe 2/3 full and its 5,000 capacity. If you held a gun to my head I'd say Scheels every year since GF always hosts the EDC Friday and Saturday and you just don't know if Minot would work or not. I'll agree with @Johnny Five that WDA is just better in Bismarck. The VFW does a great job hosting, and you've got a great centrally located tournament. Minot does as well, but I've always enjoyed it more in Bismarck (comes from a Minot guy too!).

Probably the right call to keep the focus in LA on the fires and helping people vs. a football game. Hopefully the NFL makes some kind of donation to the cause, they normally do something for victims of disasters.

Goose bumps when the FG went through. Game was starting to remind me of the Alabama national championship game in Miami when the Bama line just imposed their will on ND defense. Penn State a worthy team, I wouldn't have been too upset if we lost. I made the joke to my brother-in-law after they lost to NIU that no team had ever lost to them and won a national championship. Long ways to go, Monday the 20th I'm likely to lose years on my life.

All consolation games girls and boys.

Scheels arena beats the Ralph for state hockey. Love the Ralph, but the empty cathedral feeling for all games at REA just isn't good for a state tournament atmosphere. I think Minot should get a turn hosting the boys. I hear arguments that it isn't big enough, but attending the past few state tournaments I think attendance has dropped to the point where it's a viable option.

If Devils Lake would've beat Minot that year I think they had a great chance to win with Kurtz in net.

Schmidt comes in and just immediately adds speed and athleticism. The first thing that he does...... Is he a great recruiter, or were we just that under skilled at some of these spots the entire time?

2015 they won the state championship. Fun fact, they finished 3rd in the WDA tournament that year. They had to beat Jamestown on Saturday in Bismarck to even get there. They also got an extremely good draw that year. Devils Lake upset Red River in the EDC tournament, so Minot played them first round, then they played #4 EDC seed South/Shanley who was ahead in the third period before a kid took a 5 minute major and Minot scored twice on the major penalty. In the championship they just withstood Central and got a fantastic goaltending performance to win 2-1. As a Minot alum I've seen a lot of things that have went terribly wrong for the magi in their state tournament runs, but that year things just magically fell into place. Was also the first year the state tournament was held at Scheels Arena. I think that helped as well.

I've been a Notre Dame fan for years as my parents didn't have cable and NBC was the decent channel we got. I've probably killed their mojo as they haven't won anything since I've been a fan. I think at this point the winner of tomorrow's game is the favorite. My pick right now is Ohio State.

Completely agree. A fair amount of those "ships" that could compete with the mother ship that is the NDSU championship wagon have moved out of the harbor. If it was UND winning 10 of the last 14 I'd be happy as heck, but at the same time I'd understand that there isn't a ton out there left to prove at the lower level, and most times they take the field it's like a Fargo vs. Valley City type matchup in regards to resources at their disposal.
-
Surprise score was Davies over North 7-1. Davies has got some swagger since they knocked off Red River. Playing really well right now.
-
Red River won 8-1. Minot currently up 6-1 in the third in a bit of a surprise.

That's just it. What FCS teams are legit D1 teams? NDSU, SDSU, the Montanas, then.....I can't include UND when we would've lost to Ferris State. What is a legit D1 team? If Ferris or Valdosta turned "D1" and played the Valpos and Drakes and U of San Diego they'd go undefeated with their D2 rosters. I'd put them up against anyone NDSU played in the playoffs until the last two rounds and they'd beat them. But help is on the way FCS!!! The: East Texas A&M Lions, Lindenwood, Mercyhurst, Stonewall, and last but not least Western Georgia will have full FCS membership soon. So things are definitely looking up....

They are in the top 3-4 every year until someone does something about it, which with limited resources the Incarnate Word's of the worlds have, good luck. One of the teams that did had a mass exodus, so really right now it's them and South Dakota, and Montana schools have a punchers chance. Personal opinion is that if they stay in the lower level another 50 years they'll win like 30+ subdivision national championships. And that's a low guess if other possible contenders move up to FBS.
