East Grand to state. 3-2 over Marvin Windows AAA. 1-0 RR over Mandan.
-
Top two west teams with good showings. Now Mandan can't get blown out of the building.
-
5-1 Minot. Magi look to be moving on.
-
4-1 Minot after 2 periods.
-
Minot 4 Davies 0

You and I have coached long enough to know the battle of winning a game with 6 forwards and 4 D. TV timeouts will help, but the 2-3 minute shifts don't help things.

He hesitated, can't do that as a goalie on those pucks. Credit to Century for battling back. Packers face a big task tomorrow.
-
Some call it that....
-
What did the Century kid get ejected for?
-
4-1 for WF already. Mattern two breakaway goals.
-
Central leads 7-3. Nice to see Bottineau get to celebrate a goal or two while at the Ralph.
-
Would likewise love anybody but a GF school to win the championship.

Boys tournament kicks off today at REA. The first and last games probably not much to write home about, but the 2:30 and 5:30 games have the opportunity to be good games. Not so difficult prediction for Saturday night......We will have the Roughriders playing the Knights.
-
Did they have to open up the upper bowl? Love the Ralph. A treat to play there. Just too big.
-
Pee Wee AA and A tournament. You had Eric Fabian having to fend off parents after the A title game. Not a good scene for youth hockey.
-
There will be ND state tournaments this year with security guards after what happened at one of the tournaments last year (Fargo parents involved with that one too....surprise.....). I watched the live barn video of the incident. As soon as I saw the Grand Forks players go in front of the Fargo parents I knew it was going to reach a new level. I would have a tough time holding it together if an idiot put their hands on my kid after a hockey game. Man.....

"See those.....yeah....we won a nonconference shootout and we get fireworks. This guy @MafiaMan doesn't understand...."

Copyright to Dave Starman for the "All you can eat", he's used it for years.

Very few south kids play. I'd assume they end up playing at Fargo North. Can't imagine they'd be called the Spruins.
-
According to the NDAHA website this year there will be play in games as B1 will be an 8 team tournament. The top five teams automatically qualify, while the 6 vs. 11, 7 vs. 10, and 8 vs. 9 play it out at home sites.

TJ goalie of the week. I'd be all for him winning the award a third week in a row.
-
Completely agree. Fill the high school teams first, then put out your JG team. Hopefully the Jr. Gold has cleaned up a little bit since the days of the police having to separate people in the lobby and parents getting suspended from arenas because of harassing officials.

The right way to keep your program going. ^^^^^^^^^^

I thought this as well. When I played Nate Ziegelman was a dude. Best player in the state, yes on a loaded team. Thankfully the decision makers got that one right. Lot of people pissed because he didn't see a ton of rubber, like 12 shots a game. Didn't mean he wasn't the best player. Keller likely gone either way. Impressive season for the young man.

Good sweep against the dogs. We for the moment stay ahead of Denver who had a sweep in Miami against a team that is dead in the water. They get their next dead in the water team this weekend as they host Stearns county's finest hockey team, although Cathedral is always good. We hit Lawson this weekend and the Penrose Cup will be in the building. Four points and the Broncos win the cup outright for the first time in the league's history. They got a two point weekend at Mullett against a testy Sun Devils squad. I'm not a pairwise predictor but thankfully others are and can tell us where UND will sit with a split or a tie and a win, tie and a loss etc. Currently 18th. A win plus any result that isn't a loss would be ideal. Our goalie situation is settled for now. TJ has been good two weeks in a row, and the net is his. I liked our lines this week. Guys who don't produce in top 6 rolls should be on the fourth line and see limited minutes. Nice to see OMac get going last night, hopefully he gets on a roll here. The prediction: The Lunatics give #4 a tough time, and we get a split and possibly watch them skate the Penrose around a bit.
