You perked my interest with this, so I researched the ND HS coaches and where they played in college at all levels. East you have Skarp at UND, Paranica at UND. Metcalf at Mankato. Klein D3 with a few different stops. Metz D3, Olsonawski at Crookston. West you have Willert at Omaha, Faragher SCSU, Grubb at Wayne State, Davison played for the Pats and then collegiate hockey at Manitoba, Stillwell D3, Miller at Bottineau, Tschida at Umary, Dora a cup of coffee in the ACHA. Federenko at Duluth. I had no idea the head coach at Williston was the captain of the Bulldogs. You learn something every day.

Red River beat them, Warroad beat Central.

Section 8 with back to back. What a championship Saturday in St. Paul.
-
Duluth survives being down late twice and rallies to get to Grand Forks next Saturday. Sorry Miami, you aren't coming back in Denver. Both teams are securely in the NCAA tournament, so should make for a good tilt. Stop the Plante line and you win the game. Bottom line. Play for another 60 minutes and one more game at home for the seniors the following week.

@Dave Berger just kills the anthem again. Did his part towards the #fullsixty. -
Class A always has some thrillers in the title games. Last year was epic, year before with Mahtomedi taking down Hammer and Shaugabay..... Good times.
-
According to the game sheet I saw the officials let it ride at the end with no additional penalties. Can't let a kid do that....dumb.

2025-26 University of North Dakota Hockey Season

I get spring break, but why does no one watch the bulldogs? Amsoil is just never close to full unless UND or Minnesota is there. -
All year long the question has been Moorhead's goaltending, yet through two games at state they have gotten what they need of the kid. Their game with Tonka earlier this year was fun to watch. Hope we see a classic tomorrow.

Barely. Tight play, but the right call.
-
Tough to hope for too much for either team in the battle of the dogs. Be tough to officiate that series.

Not a great performance, but its just win time. Good to see the 4th line contribution. Thats three pretty big guys on that line that can play against anyone. -
Warroad outshot Hibbing when they played earlier this year in Warroad. Should be a good game. Maybe some OT?
-
I got to see Gavin Anderson from Warroad a few weeks back when they were in WF playing Sheyenne. Best skater I saw all year long, and a heavy shot. Scored three goals that game but could've had six. He's been the best player in this game as well.
-
Good for Mankato. One shot game to the 3rd period.
-
I hate the celebrations. Kids choosing to skate to the student sections rather than celebrating with their brothers. All about getting clicks I guess.
-
Jim Erickson, my pick for the NCHC media award this year, always on the short end of the stick with color guys. If he's not working with Geno Parrish he's with Kevin Gorg of all people. 1-0 Delano. This could get ugly.
-
Hibbing kind of went through the motions the first half of the game before getting rolling late in the second period. They have some playmakers, but will have to grind like heck against the Zephs. Thinking Delano with a walk in the park tonight against the Section 3A representative, and Warroad a 5-1 winner over Northern Lakes.

Congrats to the Legacy goaltender as according to my math he made 124 saves in the three days, beating the old record of 113.

U16 playoffs with team ND and Sioux Falls are this weekend in West Fargo, I've heard there are a few waiting around for that and possibly heading out depending on if they qualify for nationals or not.

The big names I'd keep track of in the EDC. I'll let @Johnny Fiveupdate the west as he seems in tune with what is happening there. Again, rumor mill so take it with a grain of salt. Will also lean on @gfhockey and the GOBC for the GF kids. Ulmer-RR: Skating wise he's there. Jeff's kid correct? Brown-RR: No rumors really outside of seeing him a few times and he would be one of the best returning forwards in the state. Rivard-GFC: Was his mom the UND coach? Marto-GFC: Per multiple rumors I've heard one more year at GFC. Spicer-GFC: A lot of coaches around the state I've spoken to are the most impressed with him of the GFC underclassmen. Benson-Sheyenne: Lead the state in scoring, and has played some NA3, also heard NAHL possibly this spring. Fitzpatrick-Sheyenne: In my opinion the best underclassmen goaltender in the state. Was out in Portland for their camp, and been on the ice with the Force. Dad used to coach HS, brother played college at Bottineau. Stromme-DL: Probably the MVP for that group this season. Great motor. There has been a bit of a Northstar pipeline for DL kids. If he stays he's All State pick.
