watch it again.. he was basically the TE.. he blocked down and then went out as a receiver.. Im not a great football mind so its possible Im wrong, but I think he was eligible.

if you can stand the pain.. watch it again.. I think the guy was an eligible receiver.. announcers say he was a lineman.. but he was lined up basically as a TE and then blocked and went out for a pass. Probably was the 2nd option on that play.

was 67 eligible on that play? I think he might have been. still a dumb play.

The life of a UND football fan in a nutshell The defense plays so badly against a terrible team that the terrible team puts up totally crazy offensive yardage and scores 41 pts The offense plays quite well and yet manages to screw up the last drive in regulation and somehow calls the one of the most ridiculous 2pt conversion plays I have ever seen to snatch defeat out of the jaws of victory. Again.. 95% of the loss was on the defense.. really inexcusable.. you had one person to stop.. ONE PERSON!! everyone knew it.. they talked about it on every single podcast / talkshow etc.. This was the most predictable thing in the world.. stop the QB from running for 150 yds and you prob win.. make him throw.. make him hand off.. just dont let him run for 176 fn yards.. I can hardly put into words how much I hate the 2pt conversion play call.. I would have preferred to kick the xtra pt and keep playing,, once everyone that was watching realized we were going for 2 (including calling a timeout to prepare).. it was time to put in the regular offense and run our best 3 yrd play.. Quincy can get 2 yds all day long.. 2.5 yds is not his wheelhouse.. really dumb play.. really dumb play. if you need 1 yd or 1.5yds.. I love seeing quincy run out.. using him for this play was about as dumb as it gets. Again.. defense was the problem.. and yet because we cant do the easy stuff we are talking about one of the dumbest two pt attempts that you have ever seen. crazy... By the way.. Simon had a great game.. some great throws and that last scramble was awesome.. keep doing more of that! Defense still sucks.. man it sucks.. wet paper bag.. hot knife.. butter.. all the stuff..

The problem is the defense.. 98%.. defense is so terrible.. it’s embarrassing. still the offense had a couple opportunities.. im still amazed we couldn’t run the clock out at the end.. im also super depressed by that 2pt play call. It should have been an extra pt.. and then after the fake didn’t work.. it should have been our regular offense.. so depressing..

Wasn’t excited about not kicking.. but that 2 pt call is an all time worst call.. if you are going for two .. particularly after the timeout.. u put in your best offensive play. Terrible.. terrible call. reminds me of Quincy going for it in the ndsu game 3 years ago when we didn’t need to .. terrible terrible play call

When is the last year that we had a solid defense.. our offense is doing well and the defense is a liability again.

Biggest so far has to be 2 FG in 4th quarter in the griz game.. certainly a positive trend

UNI is not good and yet I was totally expecting them to put in a backup tight end or something who would then rush for about 200 yds on us. The quick strike to tie the game up did nothing to convince me that it might not still happen. But the defense actually played pretty darn good with their most complete game of the year. 36 yds rushing and some actual pressure on the QB. Gives me a little hope for continued improvement through the end of the year. My only complaints are pretty minor would have been nice to have a shutout.. blitz didnt get home.. middle was open.. CB was a little behind. would have liked to see Kaminsky in one series sooner. seem to have perfected the 2 yd crossing pattern Lots of positives Elrichs is looking good we have some dudes at RB.. 4 deep.. all good would like to see romfo run more.. he is a shifty dude. Loved him blocking for Gavin. If he is the starter gotta play to his strengths. I want to see more Deng Deng.. I dont really care about the redshirt.. who knows how long he will stick around anyway Love seeing Q trot out in short yardage.. he is awesome.. just move those chains already. Alerus was a fun environment. Would be great to get two wins on the road and have a packed Alerus for the SD teams.

Q is an absolute dude.. quite an effort TD for him at the end of the 1st half. Still needs to keep working on his hands. love seeing him involved in the offense.

Two different offensive coordinators agree with your take so I would guess it’s a reasonable perspective, Which is even more reason for the portal.. let a kid go to a team where they will get to play.

This is such a bad take.. why should we hold kids to a higher standard than the coaches who can leave whenever they want. they clearly need to fix some things around the edges.. but kids should be able to get paid a reasonable amount, and they should be able to transfer at least once without any punitive issues. feeney gave 3 yrs to UND.. Barely saw the field.. I have no issues with him leaving and trying to get playing time before his clock runs out.

So if the topic is “what coach in ND has managed to do less with an embarrassment of funding/support” I’ll take berry. UND should be able to expect regular frozen four appearances at the minimum. Comparing program funding levels.. bubba has been better than berry.. neither of which should be ok. Also .. advocating firing the coach in the middle of the season is always dumb.

Gotta be a top 5 funded program .. same amount of playoff wins as bubba in forever

What is your point? One game doesn’t make a trend. NDSU has 3 QBs in the NFL today.. Cole has played a ton this year and last 2 also.. they pulled QBs (Quincy and Zeb).. when they were doing just fine in comparison to our guys.. we seem to stick with mediocre at best QBs and leave the backups to die on the bench. I personally have no idea if our backup is better than our current guy.. I’m just a guy on the internet not a football coach. I would just like to see the backup every so often particularly when the starter is struggling and the game is in hand or over.

This certainly represents how it’s felt over the years.. we pick 1 qb and stick with them no matter what. It seems to me that other programs are much more willing to give multiple QBs significant reps… I bet in the 6 teams we have played this year…. All of them have played their 2nd string qb more than us. We seem to do a crap job getting the backup reps.

Manitobo moose is one of my favorites players in the last 15+ years easily.. Santiogo was great.. but the Moose was a dude! 2016-2018 were years of wasted talent. Most disappointing team to me in the recent era though is prob 2021. Should have been our first win against NDSU.. and with a competent kicking game we would have won 9 games.. a 5-6 team that easily could have been 9-2 and maybe 10-1. That years team dreamed up ways to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.. Ill never forget it.

agree.. add in the terrible hold / bad spot on 3rd and 1 right shortly after romfos fumble. We had some chances even in the 2nd half.. team needs to take advantage of them. NDSU was more physical overall.. would have liked to see our team punch back.

Biggest difference between Caden and demontenac is that Caden has taken some crazy hits and hung onto the ball. Seems more sure handed to me.

There is a difference between a backup qb infatuation and wanting to see the backup qb get some reasonable time in game situations. there are a few commentators that will always want the backup regardless… if Jerry was out there they would want romfo or one of the others.. Most of the reasonable folks just want to see Jerry when he should be out there. He should have played the entire 4th quarter of the ndsu game. The game was over and instead it was more important to have romfo throw underneath passes against prevent defense. Total crap. I assume our coaches aren’t idiots and are playing the best players.. it’s a great way to lose the locker room by playing favorites and not the best player. There is no indication bubba/fruechte have done that and actually seems to be the reverse.. seems to be a lot of love doe Romfo in the locker room.

This game was not fun.. it sucked in person and when rewatching. Our defense.. uffdah.. zero pressure on bison QB's all day. Closest thing to pressure was the Rucker almost sack at the end of the 2nd quarter where he totally whiffed on Cam. That could have changed the game we would have gotten the ball back and had the opportunity to score at the end of the quarter.. instead they convert and then get a FG.. We need game-changing plays like that. The biggest disappointment of the bubba era has to be the defense.. A defensive minded head coach who cant put together a defense that can regularly hold decent teams under 30. Thats bubba's biggest failure in my book. Two positions on the offense that I am amazed we dont have better options.. Romfo and Demontenac.. both had turnovers in the 2nd half.. Demontenac has had turnovers and drops in every game although he did have one great catch this year. Romfo's stats look respectable.. all of them were in the 4th quarter when the game was over. HIs fumble on the first play of the 2nd half was terrible. I was hoping that our 2nd half adjustment would be good and I still had hope... Too many unforced errors Ziebarth is a dude.. it looks like the injuries in RB position are starting to pile up. Bye week is at a good time for the RB room. O-line played like they lost 4 starters for the first time this year. While I would never blame the refs for the whole gems the bison clearly got their moneys worth. The two PI call in the first half were super weak.. there was significantly uncalled holding even the NDSU homer announcers commented on it multiple times. My favorite non-call was on 3rd and 1 early in the 2nd half.. Pedigo fights through a terrible non-call hold/tackle from behind.. somehow makes the tackle and with a super generous spot the Bison somehow had a first down and that late hit call on rucker was absolute crap.. If Romfo is the best QB in our QB room.. I cant imagine anyone wanting the other guys through the portal. Why in the heck did romfo even play in the 4th quarter. One of my biggest complaints is lack of development of depth in the QB room. The game was basically over.. Romfo had done nothing in 3 quarters.. give the next guy a chance. Lets see if he can do anything. Tommy is getting more playing time at Michigan state than our backup QB's.. its totally depressing. Anybody crapping on Feeney needs to get a grip.. who would want to be a backup QB at UND.. even when the starter sucks the backup never gets a chance. I still have a lot of hope for this year.. Our schedule sets up decently for our team and Im hoping for the reverse of last year. Last year we beat NDSU and then sucked the rest of the year... this year we lost to NDSU and Im hoping for a steady trend upwards. Hopefully get healthy during the bye week and then kick some UNI butt.

One of my favorite parts about this week is listening to all of the fargo bozos talk about how this isnt even a rivalry game and yet if you go to any game they play.. even their national championship games entire sections are chanting about the F'n hawks. Rent free in these peoples head's year around regardless of the outcome. by the way.. only sell-out they have all year. Lets top it off and roll them in the dome!
