It was nice to see two big differences from last year - nearly a shutout.. 1 bad defensive play away from it. Last year we would have given up 20 to these guys - lots of backups played.. last year romfo would have played until the two minute warning. Great to see some of the backups get significant time.

Except that they clearly are going to play him so I hope that this game builds the confidence he needs to be great for the rest of this season

Looks like JTJ is still the #2.. but they must be trying to put some wrinkles on tape with Simon. I think in most of Simon’s snaps Jerry is out there at WR..

They clearly worked on time management at the end of the half.. everybody was hustling..

Well .. we have run that dumb swinging gate play two more times this year than good teams do. not like our kicker doesn’t need some xtra point experience

Agree 100%.. I don’t see anyone wanting to go back to the old regime except for maybe family members. Schmitty and company have injected great life into the program. Need to clean up some fixable errors. I expect this team to trend up versus collapse. Relentless pursuit of continuous improvement !

That aligns with what I saw.. ends up being a clock operator discussion versus a rule. There is no guarantee that you can complete a spike with only 3 seconds left

Has anybody confirmed there is a rule? I’ve looked around and can’t find one. Seems like a lot more concern that the spike might not complete in 3 seconds than an actual rule. I’m reasonable confident that I have seen teams spike the ball in that situation. regardless.. tough way to end a half

At some point und has to start doing the the easy things correct.. making xtra points.. kicking the fg instead of going for it on 4th and 3.. kicking the fg instead of throwing some dumb inside throw where the rb doesn’t try to get out of bounds or spike in time.. give z more time.. 20 less time.. Feels like we try too hard instead of taking the easy/obvious call.. good teams don’t do that. the reffing was terrible in the 4th quarter.. really terrible..they called tickytac bs calls on us and let them get away with way worse.. that Jerry slide with forearm to the head was a bad no call.. but the bottom line is we still should have easily won that game D looks way better to me.. O looks like it’s still finding its way.. ST actually looks way better outside of CJ.. punts/KOs/coverage im sick over another winnable game on the road.. but I’m excited for UND football this year. Our problems seem fixable to me.

D is a big improvement over last year so far.. particularly the tackling. Pretty impressive. For all the math whiz’s out there.. the reason you kick the fg on 4th and 3 is because the next fg puts us up 15 pts.. should be up 15.. except for some very curios play calling/execution.. (although not a done deal with CJ accuracy) Jerry certainly makes the team more exciting.. needs to clean up some inaccuracy’s.. he will get better let’s have a great 2nd half
