Agreed.. mediocre at best.. would be interesting to go back over every game and and decide if u would take their QB or ours.. I think the majority of the time it’s theirs.. seems like a good kid.. nice story.. but should be playing D2 football somewhere.. although I doubt he beats out the msum kid.

That’s my entire point.. if fruechte wanted Jerry.. Jerry would be playing.. a few years back we ran multiple QBs.. we all want to see Jerry.. coaches see them every day

I would like to really know who picks the starting QB.. my assumption is fruechte.. Lots of stuff to blame bubba for but I assume this is not one of them. i really hope we get to see Jerry in the 2nd half.. my expectation is there is no chance that will happen.. but again my assumption it is freuchte not bubba making that call

Some of the comments are over the top.. Bubba doesnt seem like a greedy person.. incompetent maybe.. over his head in FCS sure... Chaves is the idiot who gave him this contract extension.

Firing Joel and keeping bubba would be a UND football kind of thing to do.. putting a bandaid on an amputated limb. Firing Rudy and expecting better from the offense was reasonable as Bubba doesnt seem all that involved over on that side of the ball regardless of the conspiracy theories... Firing your 3rd DC and expecting your defense to get better while keeping the mastermind of this crap defense is the definition of insanity. The defense has had solid games here and there.. but its been terrible season by season for a long time.

Q is a dude.. he found a role on the team and crushed it.. short yardage.. 3rd or 4th and less than 2. I absolutely loved seeing him trot out there and take the other teams soul. That TD catch last week was a highlight.

I thought the 360 guys were on point this week.. all were clearly frustrated with the direction of the program.. Kelly was super vocal about it. I’m looking forward to their year end wrap up

While there are some people that want Jerry/Feeny to start… most people have said the coaches see them every day and are picking the person they think gives them the best chance what I and many others are arguing for and pointing out.. is the complete lack of time for what everyone thinks is a good future starter. Whether you believe romfo is better or not.. you have to be completely annoyed with the lack of development time for Jerry and others.. pretty much every other team we have played this year gets their backup qb in for meaningful snaps.. for some reason that is beyond the comprehension of our coaching staff.. I don’t know if it’s a fruecte call or bubba.. but it was the same under Danny.. so the common theme is bubba so I lean towards bubba with no real knowledge. I find the lack of development for our backup qbs very odd.. it’s like they want them to leave.

I like the idea.. zero expectations of something like this happening based on unwillingness to do this even during obvious situations throughout the year..

I believe the red flags u mentioned all happened before the extension. the assistant coaches left in Dec/jan.. I think most of the portal guys left earlier.. bubba was extended in March..

This discussion is bordering on rediculous.. remember.. the additional two year extension was after…. 1) another terrible defensive performance leading to a loss of a home playoff game. 2) arguably your best two coaches leaving for lateral moves at best 3) a home town kid/und football player/und football family stopping through town for 5 mins on his way to a lateral position at your instate rival.. seems like any of those three above situations would be a.. hey let’s pump the brakes on an extension and see how this year works out. I mean he still had two years on his contract.. it wasn’t like they were going to throw him out in the street.. and agree 100% with und08.. ndsu ran entz out of town after he had a season we can only dream about.. the difference in expectations is substantial.. I’m old enough to remember when we were relevant and I miss it.

I have a fair amount of agreement with the perspective that the boosters/donors need to step up. Where I believe there is a clear disconnect is the most recent extension. There were two years remaining on his contract.. there was no need for an extension. Why should the boosters/donors step up when chaves is burning money in the middle of the room. i still picture bubba walking into chaves office last spring coming up with his laundry list of excuses expecting to be fired or put on double secret probation and instead chaves hands him an two year extension with no update to severance. I’m sure bubba just about broke his arm looking for a pen to sign on the dotted line.

Generally agree.. I also think most people don’t stand in front of an interviewer telling that person and community how much they love their job and company. And I actually do think bubba really loves UND football and I think he is embarrassed at being the 4th best team in the dakotas and it not being particularly close. In reality this one is totally on the AD.. the last extension was totally unnecessary and incompetent.
