Any news on ss from last weekend

I actually believe the most important step is to hire some people that give a crap about the fact that the intro sucks and make it their job to fix it.
-
The recipe isn’t all that complicated 1) cool intro video 2) Schmidty leading out the boys from the locker room to the field with a cool song 3) lean into the 701 with the ND flags running out on the field with some lights/pyro.. 4) national anthem 5) win game

I’m sure the Fargodome runs the audio for the bison games.. they seem to be able to figure it out every week. it might be interesting to see the contract.. I’ve been a season ticket holder for 12+ years and it’s not a new complaint. It would be nice to have some attention to detail type folks take over for a while.
-
Does anyone happen to know if this is one of the assistant AD jobs? I would think that somebody would have football as their primary focus and that would include the game day experience? Might be nice to correspond with them directly.
-
Pretty much every school that knows what they are doing figures this out.. NDSu clearly has. This would be unacceptable at UND hockey.. I’m not sure why we mail it in for UND football and allow this significantly below average audio and intro. It’s really pretty embarrassing.
-
I’m always amazed by how bad the sound system at the alerus sucks.. total bush league. Davies high school has a better sound system. if only the alerus admin had a few months to prepare for the season opener 😀

Lots of nitpicking around the edges… but this teams is much improved. Many had us as as 3.. 4.. 5 TD underdogs are now suddenly expert play callers in a close game on the road in a packed house. * offense looks good.. love the improvement at the QB position. Siedl seems like the real deal and would like to see more of the inside run game with Z * defense looks greatly improved.. catch a couple INTs and we win this game by 2-3 TDs * ST looked solid last two minutes of the game baffled me.. should have won. First game with a new coaching staff and I expect they will improve week by week.
-
100% agree.. seems like there should be about 1000+ kids at UND a year with the ability to clean this up.
-
Elrichs is another year better and siedl returning kickoffs will be explosive.
-
Apples and oranges I think.. Year 1 versus long term expectations. I already said I’m expecting better than 6-6 year 1. So min 7-5 and given bubbas trajectory last year 6-6 this year would have been a pipe dream.
-
6-6 should be the base case.. 4 large underdog.. 4 reasonable favorites.. 4 tossups. Lots of different combinations to get to 6-6. I’m expecting the over. offense will be better.. QB is +.. Oline/RB/TE should better as good or better with 2nd year in offense.. WR tough to replace one of the greats but im optimistic. Wildcard will be turnovers ST will be as good or better D would be hard to be worse.. My biggest hope is team shows a very positive trend into the end of the year instead of the road woes and collapse of the previous regime.
-
I hope Jerry kills it from the first snap and there is never a reason to play more except in the end of games. I also know last year we were begging for them to play more than one.. they have two games to figure it out in my opinion. Hopefully fully locked in by Montana game.

Comparisons of Simon and Tommy are fairly ridiculous.. One was an above average to significantly above average FCS QB. If you think that comment refers to Simon there is likely a strong overlap to family/friends in the Calvin/Langdon area. All of this deserves the qualifying comment yet again that QB was about 15th on the list of the things wrong with the team last year. I expect the QB position and the management of said position to be significantly improved over last year. I believe that fruechte learned a ton last year and I have significant doubts that the narrative of bubba forcing freuchte to play an injured romfo over a healthy Jerry is anywhere close to accurate.
-
So an injured romfo was better than giving Jerry minutes in games that didn’t mean anything.. last years story gets worse by the minute.
-
The latest undfootball360 podcast with fruechte was great. It had a lot of insight into what Isaac is looking for in a QB. His number one comment was he was looking for a QB that could push the ball up the field with his legs. Based on hearing that, I’m guessing romfos relatively poor throwing has a bit higher focus on this fan board than in the coaches decision criteria. Anyways he mentioned 3 QBs running neck and neck.. romfo, JTJ and kaminski.. very specifically said sulik needed to get better running. Additionaliy said he imagined there would be significant playing time for multiple QBs. Highly recommend listening if you have some time.

Doppler and Erickson were both pretty big reaches at the time and in reality both would have been better off going to a D2 team where they could have gotten playing time and active development. With the portal nowadays coaches will also regularly be bringing in experienced players over the top of kids that have been “developing” on the roster. until the portal pendulum swings the other direction.. it’s in the kids and coaches best interest to look for a place where they can contribute rapidly versus being buried in a development role.
-
Could add 70.. saved for impact big guy! I love the special number idea
-
What was our record again this year? Not sure if I understand the tears for our guys hitting the portal outside of Eaglestaff. Until the coaching side of things is straightened out we might as roll out an all state team from North Dakota. At least their friends and family would show up to the games. I thought sather was a good hire but it hasn’t worked out for him.. 1 winning season in 6.. it’s time to go a different direction.
-
seems like the running back coach at ISU is a pretty significant salary upgrade over OC in the MVFC.. I was a little suprised to see it was so much.
-
Gotta give him a little grace.. he has been watching UND football so the definition of awesome QB play might be a little skewed..
-
This is the wildcard to me.. I know we will never find out.. I also know and realize that the defense was a gaping wound all year and so QB was about 15th on the list of issues. I would really like to know whose decision it was to start Romfo all year and never give the backup any kind of meaningful time. Im not even arguing if Romfo was better or Jerry or Feeny or who beat who out etc.. How could you watch our QB play this year and not at least want to give the backup a little bit of time. Im a little surprised Jerry hasnt hit the portal. Im excited about the chatter about some QB transfers. Spring ball is going to be fun this year.
-
I love the portal and enjoy watching the NIL pearl clutching. Its really nice to see the players get paid and coaches having to deal with it. It could use a little regulation and visibility as I would like to see how much the players are actually getting paid versus all of the rumors. Im sure one of the guys on here has all of the stats as to percentages of players that go into the portal versus end up in a better situation but Im sure the answer is a pretty low percentage. There are always the outliers that are bouncing around every year.. but for the vast majority, its gotta be somebody who is trying to go somewhere for the last year or two of eligibility or somebody who ended up in a situation that just didnt work out for them and they would like to play.

Eric Schmidt named head coach of North Dakota football

This is why this conversation gets annoying.. clearly in fall camp the three were very close.. 1 was named starter.. 1 quit.. the other one was buried on the bench regardless of how poorly the starter played or how out of hand the game was. It was rediculous.
