  1. Yeah, they won state in 95-96.
  2. I believe Chicago St. can't play in the tournament because of academics. I don't remember the details surrounding it, but they weren't in compliance with certain rules or regulations. After searching for more information, I found this... "If after all that, you're still interested in seeing the Great West Conference Tournament, great news! It's being held in Chicago! Sadly, the hometown team, Chicago State, won't be playing, as they were banned from postseason play by the NCAA for having an Academic Progress Rate below standards." Source
  3. If you don't like the new band jersey, you can chalk that one up to the athletic department. Prior to the beginning of the school year, the band was told they'd be allowed to wear the Sioux jerseys for the remainder of the year, regardless of what happened with the nickname and logo, which is why the band wore those jerseys in Winnipeg for the game against Clarkson, and which is why there was no plan in place to order new jerseys. Some of the big wigs at the game at MTS saw the band in the jerseys and informed them in the middle of the next week that they wouldn't be allowed to wear them anymore. And although there are some people in the band who don't like the jerseys, I know the gal who was in charge of ordering them and I think she did a great job with the amount of time and money involved. And from what I understand, these won't be the jerseys the band wears from here on out. They were ordered to get the band through the rest of this season. So yeah, cut the band some slack.
  4. Exactly. I'm not sure how the name is "wide open". Although, the basketball band was named the Sioux Crew Basketball Band before the Sioux Crew (now NoDak Nation) ever existed, so you never know.
  5. There's a nice tribute video dedicated to Jimmy on vikings.com. Definitely worth a look. Here's his presser...first one ever http://www.vikings.com/media-vault/videos/Kleinsasser-Presser---11/b225794e-8ca3-4b18-9266-20d132833cd8
  6. I second that!
  7. Regardless of how many points Schuler had tonight, he bailed out the other guards when Montana put on the press. He seemed to be in a lot of the right places a majority of the time. And yes, he was the only one hitting his free throws. Anderson wasn't bad but Webb was pretty terrible (talking about free throws at the end of the game and OT). I also thought Wilmer had a good game. Played strong in the post and gave the team some momentum. Nice to see someone of that size on our team making a difference. Montana went with 4 guards and a center for a lot of the 2nd half so he didn't get much time on the court in the 2nd half or OT. It was a fun game to be at and nice to see the boys pull out the win.
  8. Not sure how it would fly in GF, but I wouldn't mind seeing The Melting Pot.
  9. Sweeny said on the news tonight that he resigned. Also, says it here.
  10. Trupp! 1-0 Sioux
  11. 7-1 RR, 1:00 remaining
  12. 6-1 RR, 3:52 remaining
  13. 5-1 RR, 11:13 remaining in the 3rd
  14. 4-1 RR, end of the 2nd
  15. RR up 3-1, end of 1st
  16. The refs didn't review the goal because they said that without the replay on the big screen, they wouldn't have seen it go off the skate. If there hadn't been a replay, no one would have said anything. The coaches and players didn't react until seeing the replay, so they had to stick with their call. I still don't agree with it. I think anytime there is a scrum in front of the net and a puck crossing the goal line it should be reviewed, but they didn't feel that way. But that was the reason there was no review on the goal.
  17. No idea. I'm getting text updates from a friend who is at the game. All I know is that the two goals were quick.
  18. 3-1 Sioux! The two goals were scored less than a minute apart. 7 min to go in the 2nd period. Goals by Loken, Lamoureux-Kolls, and Parizek.
  19. 1-1 in the 2nd.
  20. It's a bit too much like last Thursday...
  21. Yeah, it's hard to listen to him. A former player would be great. At least they'd have a better feel for the game and could actually give some insight, rather than just stating the obvious.
