A 10 point game...yeah, it wasn't that close. You know it's bad when Mathison gets in the game with over 8 minutes remaining. Maybe the Sioux can work on a couple of things in the offseason, like layups and how to beat a press. Ugly game.

I just disagree with it being in the Ralph all together. If they packed the Betty last year, in my opinion, do it again this year. As a fan, I would rather see a packed Betty with people being turned away at the ticket booth than a a half filled lower bowl at the Ralph. It makes our place that much harder to play in. I understand UND trying to hype this weekend's games...it's a good idea. They need to do that for the big weekends, but make sure you are doing it in a way in which we'll have the advantage.

Anyone else find it strange that this weekend's bball games are being held at the Ralph? We can't even fill the Betty, let alone the Ralph. To me, the game will be played on a neutral floor, being any sort of home court advantage will be gone. And then to put the game on tv? That won't help numbers at all. I hope I am horribly wrong and we fill the place, but something tells me there's a slim to none chance of that happening. I heard on tv tonight that the largest crowd for bball this year didn't even brake 2,000...somewhere around 1,800. I'll tell ya, 1,800 people in the big arena will look pretty silly. Maybe their thought is to host a game in the Ralph because of possible football recruits being in town, but honestly, if I was looking at coming to UND to play football, knowing that UND has a $100 million dollar hockey arena wouldn't do much for me. Thoughts?

So the game is on directv, but when I go to the channel, it says "paid programming"...do you have to pay anything to watch the game? Any ideas? Thanks.

I saw this article in the Herald this morning. Anyone else find it interesting that one of the topics in the article was about grades and the high GPA amongst a good majority of the athletes, but yet they put Josh Murray's picture at the top of the article? By no means is this a slam on Josh Murray

I haven't heard the details concerning transportation yet (whether they fly or bus). Maybe it was brought up, but the conversation I was involved with happened a while ago. But as far as the funding for travel in general, the band received a large increase in their budget. They are working on getting members some money as well, in a scholarship form of course. That is happening through an endowment fund, which has been in the works for quite some time. At NDSU, they started awarding scholarships and their band grew almost double in size. And I'm pretty sure that was from one year to the next. I was kind of surprised when I heard about the budget increase, but if we are going to be a Division 1 school, in my opinion, we better have a Division 1 marching band as well. I'm excited to see what happens.

Just thought I'd throw it out there...I got the inside scoop from a very reliable source about something I had hoped for ever since the Texas Tech game was on the schedule. The UND Pride of the North Marching Band will be making the trip to Lubbock as well. The President was behind the idea the whole way and is making it happen. Sounds like the band will be traveling to one of the "big" games each year. So look for them not only in Lubbock, but also at Fresno State in 2011 and San Diego State in 2012. I'm not sure which game they would head to in 2010 (I'm assuming it would be Idaho) but be on the look out. Being I'm a Pride of the North alum (5 years), this is a great thing for the band, the team, and the fans. It should also help out the recruiting side of things as well. Hopefully the band can grow and reach the size we've always hoped for...150+. We'll see what happens.
