2013 Minnesota State High School Hockey Tournament

I actually feel bad for the STA kids because they're good enough to win the AA tourney, but were never given the chance because those in charge didn't make the jump sooner. -
Caggiula on top line with Kristo and Knight. Rocco swaps down to 2nd unit with Rowney and Parks. Gothberg in net.

Would the NCHC logo work in the collar area of UND jerseys similar to the placement of the NHL patch?
-
Just a random thought... Stecher was willing to decommit from UNO when Hastings left, yet Hastings' MSU-M wasn't listed as one of his possibilities. It would seem to me that playing in the NCHC may have helped us get this kid. Now...how keeping the remaining pieces of the "old" WCHA together would've changed things we'll never know. Just a little speculation...

Kangas? -
Let me look at this from a different perspective... As a WMU or Miami Fan, why should UND, SCSU, UMD, DU, CC, and UNO fans get priority over them for seat selection for the conference tourney? Do U Mich, MSU, OSU, and PSU fans get first priority for the B1G tourney at the X? Why should UMinn and UW fans be afforded that luxury? Perhaps those "other" schools are given priority when their tourney is in Detroit, I don't know. But for a tourney that is being held at the Target Center every year, I would think it would be a bit unfair to the new teams in the conference if their fans were left out of the "priority" ticket process just because we think we should have some sort of "carryover" from the old WCHA.

NORTH DAKOTA vs. BEMIDJI STATE - Saturday SENIOR NIGHT
Snake replied to AZSIOUX's topic in Men's Hockey
Fair enough. I also value the NC as the standard, but to generalize fans who are proud of the program's recent accomplishments despite no NCs as not caring if they ever win one again is quite unfair. I guess it's probably a difference in how we're wired. I don't "expect" national championships every X amount of years because its not within my control. It's up to the guys in the locker room to have that expectation, and I believe they do. My expectations are reserved for things I have control of. -

How many more seasons will it take for those of you who are so disappointed by the lack of a recent natty to just quit following the team? This is a serious question, because I would think at some point the lack of satisfaction would eventually take its toll, and it wouldn't be worth the trouble any more. -
I think the big ice plus the fact MSU is not Bemidji will lend this series to be more wide-open. Not sure who it favors other than UND's top line.

And I was in Madison with like 250 other people for the '99 upset loss to BC. Longest. Drive. Home. Ever. -

It's funny the 2000 and 2001 teams are brought up here, because their predecessors that were "supposed" to win it all ('98 and '99) never even made the Frozen Four. -

Actually, it was 2000....we "choked" in the title game in 2001, remember? -

I'm confused why some people even bother to follow this team if all they do is disappoint them. -

I think we all wonder "how are we going to replace the scoring from player X" every off-season; but more often than not things seem to work themselves out and there's always players ready to step into those primary roles. I'd say we were really asking this question after the '10-'11 season, but lo and behold...Knight, Kristo, and Nelson stepped up. We usually don't fill it in with incoming Freshmen...look for some of the current Sophomore class to fill the scoring void more consistently.

Play a full 60 minutes and good things will happen. I won't say 120 minutes because we need to take it one game at a time. In fact, just do the right things, make the smart plays, and compete at a high level every shift and things will take care of themselves.

I know...I hardly follow the game, so just jabbing a little. Forgot the appropriate emoticon, etc!

Clearly Indiana isn't the #1 team in the country.
-
Hard to say...not exactly a lot of 5x5 play to evaluate the lower line combos. I'll take the same special teams setup, though!

I believe if QU were to finish #1 overall, a "pure" bracket would place them with #8, #9, and #16.

FINAL Final 5 seat locations and Q's about next year

Does the B1G allow beer sales at their basketball tourney? That would be the precedent to look at. If so, I'm guessing the hockey tourney will follow suit. -
DTV had it from the start.
