Soo Liners is unique. I kinda like it. Going off the "Lakers," I've always thought that as a way to honor the one tribe that gave approval for the Sioux name UND could adopt the nickname "Spirit Lakers." I'm sure it would be shortened to "Lakers" most of the time, and ND isn't necessarily known for it's abundance of lakes, but then again neither is Los Angeles.

If I recall correctly, UND and Notre Dame were the only schools to apply to host this year's western regionals. Since UND applied with BOTH their home venue and a neutral site, the NCAA chose the neutral site. Notre Dame likely got lucky that there were no other applicants, as they were awarded the other regional at their home venue. Now, obviously UND could've done the same thing as Notre Dame and applied only with the Ralph, but if there had been more applicants they would've run the risk of not getting selected.

The elevator video really swayed the Ray Rice issue. Can you imagine if a video surfaced of this "discipline" session? I cringe to think of watching this little 4-year-old get repeatedly whipped and bloodied. You think there would be ANYONE defending this guy if there was a video from inside the "whooping room?" Add to it statements from the child regarding fears of getting punched in the face if he told anyone about it. Adrian Peterson is no father.

Basically, for a few more bucks than a UND Insider subscription you will be able to watch all of UND's road conference games (except at DU). Last year we were able to get some of the road broadcasts from the schools that use Neulion, but this year all schools (except DU, again) are tied to Neulion through NCHC.tv.

Makes you wonder who else saw this video previously (law enforcement?), and why charges weren't filed. edit: I see he faced 3rd degree aggravated assault... But still...if Goodell had seen this before he levied the 2 game suspension he's in serious do do.

I visited the forum on my iphone last night for the first time in a week or so, and as typically happens with that much idle time I needed to log in. Everything went fine for me, and I didn't see any of the issues noted above. I use the mobile theme in Safari.

If you want to go that route, I'm sure USC is thinking about a name change.... or Bemidji State...

Even though there are some other teams with the name Roughriders, I still think it is the best fit for UND and UND is the best fit for that particular name. I went to RRHS and it wouldn't bother me one bit. I'm more "loyal" to my university than my high school.

When asked about not wanting to be traded to Toronto, he was quoted as saying something along the lines of 'going to Toronto would be like going to play for Boston.' For as "chummy" as pro athletes are with each other - even on rival teams - I kind of respect his honesty and the fact that he just couldn't stand the thought of being traded to what he considered a rival team.

They brought Vanek in to be the finisher...otherwise the move doesn't make sense. They need goal scorers.

I should also note that I had a good experience using the UND app on the ipad over wireless.

That is what I did. My laptop was hard-wired to my router. It was good quality.
