  1. The best hockey song i've ever heard is "The Hockey Monkey", I think it's by a band called The Zamboni's, but not sure. It's just hilarious. Wait, there's even a better song called "Me Like Hockey" possibly the same band, but again...not positive.
  2. I got my tix around 9:30 at the union, but i was with some friends at the fritz around 2, and they still had plenty of tickets there...i was actually surprised...
  3. How about the North Dakota Zephyrs...I've always thought that would be a great name for a hockey team. It plays on our propensity for a lot of wind here...and shows a fluidity, a smooth flow on the ice.
  4. Well, I personally wouldn't be surprised at all to see Stafford playing a lot of center this year. I think it's a possibility the lines could look like- Murray-Stafford-Porter (line 1) Spirko-Genoway-Zajac (line 1a) Prpich-McMahon-Fylling Kaip-Canady-Fabian Defense could be interesting, as I think Bina has the capability to jump in and replace anybody at any time if anyone starts to slip, and I don't think the coaches will hesitate to throw him in there. That being said, the D should look like this- Greene-Jones Schneider-Smaby Fuher-Radke Early in the season, I wouldn't be surprised to see a lot of Robbie, especially if Smaby or Fuher struggles at all in the defensive zone If Radke has a little trouble adjusting to D1 hockey, they might not play him every single game at the beginning of the season, to let him get a feel for the game. Goaltending is very tricky, as Brandt and Jordan did an excellent job last year, dispelling any doubts as to their capability as goaltenders, especially Brandt. However, I think the job is Phil's to win. If he can prove that he is capable of replacing either of the two incumbents, we should see a lot of Phillipe in the early goings of the season, at least splitting weekends with Jake or Jordan. Well, that's my two cents, any comments? complaints? I don't want to hear em!!
  5. Hey, you guys need to learn more about the Wild before talking about Mikko. He will be playing in the AHL only if there ISN'T an NHL season next year. Because regardless of wether there is an NHL season or not, the AHL will play. If there is an NHL season next year, the entire organization and the whole fan base who follow the team extensively, fully expect him to be on the Wild next season. Koivu is still considered a top flight prospect by all the scouts and people who have seen him play. If you look at his stats, they seem to be a little low, but in that league, they don't usually give a second assist for goals, which would deflate his numbers a little. Another reason he hasn't come over already is because of his military obligations to Finland he had to fulfill. He will never have the goal scoring ability that Gabby has, but he will be a better playmaker. I am fully expecting him to be on one of the top two lines for the Wild next season (barring a lockout/strike).
  6. I like the idea personally, and I wouldn't be surprised to see Crosby leave the Q for this league. His parents were already talking about taking him over to Europe to avoid the abuse he takes playing for Rimouski. It would be the same path Gretzky took to the NHL.
  7. Hockey is a major sport. Read this link, it's great, and proves that hockey is a major sport, despite what sportswriters think.
  8. It's not my opinion, it was what he told me.
  9. Sabin and Volrath both played for GFC. And I don't think Sabin ever played for the Ice Sharks/Steel. He went to Licoln after his junior year but didn't stay the whole year because he wouldn't have been able to graduate from H.S. down there. Then he went to Bismarck and was one of the big reasons they were able to win the championship there. He wasn't the average NAHL player (or AWHL as it was...). And hey... Bina's on the team, and he wasn't as big of a star in Bismarck as Karl.
  10. The ND connection could have been a lot bigger this season. Brad Volrath was a very late cut this past year, I heard he got cut after pictures, but not sure. And Karl Sabin would have been on the team but he was academically unable to get into UND. Very unfortunate, as he is a very, very talented player, and a good guy.
  11. You want a really inside scoop??? Matt is walking on next year, and has been told he will probably make the team.
  12. I wonder if this waiver had been in place before, if Crosby would've gone the college route to be drafted sooner??
  13. I am curious to see what team Blais will coach. Also, since it is likely that the Sioux will have at least Stafford on the WJC team, who will he play for?? This could be interesting.
  14. I've always just said "GF" that's easy enough for me. for s's and g's- Chicago's nickname "the windy city" is named that because of all of the attorneys blowing hot air. New York's nickname "the big apple" is so because when horse carriages were the main mode of trans. there were horse droppings all over the roads in NY. They were called "apples." So, New York is really, "The Big Pile of Horse $#!t" And I'm not making this up.
  15. kinda dumb, but 95 is ZP flipped over.
  16. hm, nobody is putting Oshie in the lineup, i think he might play over massen, seeing how much he played this year.
  17. I wouldn like to see Colby, B-Bo, and Fylling, and then Murray, Zajac, and Stafford.
  18. Last year, I think Central's team could have competed with almost any H.S. team in the country. Maybe not the elite prep schools like shattuck, but they could have probably could have won the Minnesota AA tourney. They should have been even better this year, but they lost those three great players in Morgan, P.J., and Jacques.
  19. Bert is currently suspended indefinitely, and will probably be out for the rest of the season, and deserves to be out for all of, if not at least part of, the playoffs.
  20. It was an absolutely dispicable act by Bert. He followed him around for a bit, then when he wasn't looking, sucker punched him from behind. Moore was out when he got punched, and Bertuzzi continued to ride him to the ice, slamming his face down. This definitely should be a 10+ game suspension, and possible legal action by Moore. The entire league, including fans and players of every team, and even the fans and players in Vancouver, are all disgusted at this malicious, and horrible act by Todd Bertuzzi.
  21. If it is the student section in the upper level, you won't have a problem. There are tons of non-students that sit there. If it is a lower level student seat, which i doubt, since they are all reserved season ticket seats, you'd need an id at the gate, but not when going to your seat. If you're in the upper level of the student section, have fun, and try not to miss the "Sioux, Yeah, Yeah's"!!!!
  22. They wont all be going to Lincoln anymore. The USHL is tier one now, so while the teams can hand pick a couple players, the majority of the players will be distributed through a draft. That's how the Morelands ended up in Sioux Falls. Jacques Lamoreux was drafted last year too, by Green Bay I think. So I'm not sure if he has to play for them when he goes to the USHL or not.
