  1. Yeah, during the game they said that he wasn't supposed to play in the Denver game because he didn't feel 100% after the Wisconsin game...
  2. I know you can do it Robbie...Get better bud..
  3. Vandevelde is still playing, he's in Lincoln with Brian Lee...Vandevelde had 2 assists tonight for the Stars, and Lee had an assist on the powerplay. Nice first game for the boys...
  4. What channel are these games on in GF? I would guess they'd be on FSN channel 51...but I know they used to be on channel 9....just lookin for some certainty...
  5. I think Central has a great chance to at least beat Minot... Central has been playing very, very well through the end of the season. I didn't see the game against South in the EDC tourney, but i heard that they played well and had some chances to score. It seems to me that ever since the Warroad game, they have been really coming together as a team. They lost that game, badly, but played well, and it seems they have really put it together. Losing Garritson hurts, he's their most physical player...but after he went down against West Fargo, it seemed like the team really picked it up, and rallied around it and played with a lot of emotion... As long as they can keep the weak goals against down, and if Kelvin can be solid, and keep his concentration, they have a good chance to get to the finals, I think...
  6. The thing about Chappell in the hurdles is...he's breaking all these records in high school, but he's never had any real hurdle coaching. The coaches at Central do a good job, but Ryan would improve so much if he had a legit hurdles coach. Saying that his form needs a lot of work is putting it lightly...He's basically running on pure, raw talent...
  7. Even though football players may have been good sprinters in H.S. they usually are not good sprinters in college, simply because they play football. Usually, they end up putting on 10-20 lbs for football, and they completely lose their sprinting speed. It's really a shame that football ruins so much track talent. I hope they don't do it to chappell...he could be a national contender in the 400M hurdles if football doesn't mess him up...
  8. how long has this cap thing been going on? cuz i've go to most sioux games, and i usually buy at least one pop, and i've never had my cap taken away when i bought it...is it only at certain stands??
  9. I just hope that whoever they hire will do something about the ice...I know it's been getting better...but it is still very, very, very awful...
  10. Heisenberg has Swystun listed as committed to Michigan as of today.
  11. I think people need to realize that this ramp isn't being built with regards to parking for Sioux hockey games. The ramp is being built to help solve parking problems for the students on campus. It has to be paid for, and if you want to park there, you will pay for it. You don't have to park there, you choose to...so stop bellyaching about something that is good for the school.
  12. Yeah, Phil is a dual-citizen too, I think.
  13. I miss being able to get me and 7 of my friends into a game with just 2 tickets....
  14. I must say that tonight, for the game between Belarus and Switzerland, the crowd was more than i ever would have expected...there were 8000+ fans there, and everyone was into the game...and nobody got booed, and there was no clear favorite team either, it was a nice, enthusiastic, bipartisan crowd...i think that will only go to show the rest of the world what great fans of the game of hockey we have here in north dakota...not just fans of one team...
  15. off the top of my head...i believe the huge slovakian defenseman refered to would be Boris Valabik, i think he plays for the Kitchener Rangers of the OHL, drafted by the Thrashers 10th overall...and the Czech forward name was Rastislav Olesz...he's a really good player as well, first rounder by Florida, 7th overall...some very good skill in that game for sure, wish i could have seen it.
  16. It's the WJC U20 team.
  17. Friday: UND-4, UMD-2 Saturday: UND-5, UMD-1
  18. But his brother's name is Pierre...well, Pierre-Paul, and Pierre Lamoreux already played for the Sioux...Phil's dad...How about his full name, Jean-Philippe?
  19. Hey, just a suggestion on those signs....and for general use.... Don't call him Lammy, it's kind of annoying. Nobody calls him that, I've never heard anybody call him Lammy until he started playing here, and it's just not a good nickname. Call him Phil, or Frenchie even, as that was his nickname in H.S. I also understand that his nickname was Clooty at Lincoln, probably cuz he looked like Cloutier, with the helmet and all, but not sure. Personally, I've always called him Phil, or more recently, Phil the Savior....Please, no more "Lammy"....
  20. Yeah, you made our point for us...If it's only up to the refs..it will happen all game long, and nobody likes to see constant special teams. And also, no fighting would lead to more injuries, and more career threatening injuries. If the enforcers weren't there to protect the skilled players...the skillled players wouldn't be playing hockey for very long...trust me...
  21. If you think that Gretzky and Lemieux never got into any fights, then you are sorely mistaken...
  22. I'm gonna have to tell you that fighting becomes a big part of hockey when the kids get to junior hockey. Fighting is allowed in the USHL, NAHL, and all of the leagues in canada. In fact, fighting is sometimes encouraged to show leadership on those teams.
  23. If you outlaw fighting in all hockey, what's next? Should they outlaw checking too and completely make hockey a pansy sport? Body-checking could be considered just as brutal as fighting, when done to the extreme. Seriously, get over yourselves. Fighting is a big part of hockey, it's a part of team chemistry, momentum, team spirit, respect, and defending your own team. They don't fight to beat each other up, or to hurt each other. They likely don't have a problem with each other at all, they simply want to help their team out in any way possible. And there is nothing wrong with that.
  24. I am a student at UND, and I feel that the athletic department, and REA are treating the students very, very, very poorly. I think Roger Thomas is one of the worst AD's i've ever seen. They force the students to sit so the Alumni can see in their precious little box. But if they keep treating the students like this, in 50 years, there will be a far less number of Alumni supporting the athletic department, not to mention the school. I am considering transferring after this spring, partly because i am sick of being treated as a sheep by the administration. Money for the university comes from the state, and from the students. But the money they really want is from the Alumni, which is put in jeapordy. Not now, but in the years when i'm an elderly person, and the rest of my classmates are getting older, it will be hard for me to give money back to this school that treats me like $#!*.
  25. Did anyone else notice that Brandt seemed to be injured after that collision in the second period? He seemed to be greatly favoring his right leg for the entire game afterwards, and none of the coaches seemed to notice at all. To me it seemed pretty darn obvious that he was hurting. That last Irmen goal, he couldn't push off going to his left at all....Just wodering if anyone else there noticed the same thing....anyone?
