  1. Ok, you are officially going on "ignore" status, a feature I don't like to use. Congrats.
  2. Beat DU!
  3. My buddies will be pulling into Green Bay any minute now. Boy am I jealous! CHEER LOUD!
  4. I was waiting for you to start this up AZ. Punish em early!
  5. I feel bad for Martin...in all likelihood, Chambers is painting a picture of him that isn't accurate. In all other interviews, Martin doesn't act like Chambers is saying he is acting. There are a few quotes from Martin that I feel represent some suppressed anger...and until I get my neck broken and almost die, I can't comment on those feelings. Best wishes to him in the future.
  6. That is not a reason to change. That is not a reason to give in. That is not a reason to stop fighting. There are two sides to every major issue on this planet.
  7. I like your idea! It could be done in a bracket format, with voting.
  8. It is nice to see alums speaking their mind FOR the name and logo. I wish more would do it, but it is hard sometimes, as you will get labeled a racist by many on the anti-nickname side. I know for a fact there are some UND faculty that vehemently support the Sioux name, but are scared to speak out, as they believe it could cost them their positions. At the same time, many UND faculty who are against the name take every opportunity to speak out in their classes, in the opinion pages of newspapers, and even in Bismarck, after taking a free UND planeride there. Anyway, nice job Frank B.!!!
  9. That is pretty good stuff right there...
  10. Are you being serious, or just trying to draw attention to yourself?
  11. This has to suck for gopher fans. 1. They can maintain their UW rivarly, but true gopher fans will tell you that one doesn't touch the UND rivalry. 2. The Michigan and Michigan State "rivalries" are pretty tame. 3. The Ohio State and Penn State matchups will be like playing Brown or Union in a holiday tourney, in my opinion. Maybe those will grow after about 5-10 years have passed, who knows. As a UND fan, I don't have any real feelings on this right now. I would love to see us keep the rivalry with UMN and UW, but if it can't be salvaged, there are plenty of marquee schools to play in non-conference games. I think of the Bostons, Maine, UNH, Miami, Notre Dame, the list goes on and on. I don't think the BTHC will affect recruiting for UND, and I know it won't affect attendance.
  12. RPI hasn't played since March 6th. They will be rested, and probably rusty. Need a good start against these guys!
  13. I talked to a few gopher fans at the game, and the bars afterwards. There was a profound sense of anger and embarrassment in the few I talked to. They couldn't believe Lucia is getting extended. I tried cheering one older guy up, saying: "it will get better, they will be back", he answered, "when, sir?, when?".
  14. I saw less than 10 Gopher jerseys...sad.
  15. Also saw the RIT jersey, what is up with that? Saw a UNH jersey in the concourse....I think I know what is up with that one...
  16. At game, crowd not bad at all
  17. You get my +1 as well. Time to get rid of Kelley.
  18. 30% of North Dakota's budget is dependent on oil tax revenue. Compare that to 70% in Alaska. Source: GF Herald article from today. I always keep some of this info in my brain for when Twin Cities people make fun of our state, which I expect to encounter this week at the Final Five.
  19. We have the same seats every year, and I agree, it seems to vary which direction teams attack. I do think it is based on locker room assignment and bench you are sitting on.
  20. Congrats to the sioux men. Bison fans, you should remember the transition, you would have loved a chance at something like this. It is as close to postseason as we can get right now. I think of this postseason as a nice dry run for when we enter the Big Sky, it can only help.
  21. It is nice to see the gophers lose in the first round again. That program is no longer relevant, they have a long road ahead before they start mattering again. I feel bad for their diehard fans.
  22. Come on now. It was an honest question. I have a problem with the anti-name, anti-nickname bill, whatever you want to call them, arguments regarding the "what ifs" about this situation. It started with the argument that the name is hostile and abusive, and has progressed to this level of how it will hurt the University. To that, I say BS. And yes, Mac Schneider doesn't hide behind a screen name, he is an elected official. He put his opinion out there on this one, and I believe it will hurt him bigtime in the next election. He is a smart guy, and wagered whether or not to do this, I would assume he is regretting it now.
