    NHL Draft

Trevor Ludwig picked by Dallas in the 6th round (#183). Appears that Radke (at 175 lbs) was overlooked. Beaverson went late in round 9.

    New Coach

Hakstol is Blais' pick. It was no surprise that, on Saturday, he (Blais) endorsed associate head coach Dave Hakstol as his choice to replace him over possibly former Sioux assistant Scott Sandelin, now at Minnesota Duluth and a close friend of his.
  4. So your prediction is what? That Buffalo will pay the better two way player Stafford to leave college, leaving Vanek behind, or will they pay Vanek, both Vanek and Stafford, or neither.

As requested. Sorry, should have read "Eades" rather than "Eaves"
  9. Blais has stepped down as coach of the world juniors.
  10. The newest posts in the thread now have Gallant being named as head coach today. ??;)?

    NHL Draft

Stafford pic on the front of this weekend's draft site and the Stafford Already a Champion story.
  12. I believe Pierre backed up Iwabucci on the 1980 NCCA championship team. Or did he back up Jensen in 82??
  13. I was hoping for a second coming of DeBus
  14. Not free, but prices and ticket ordering info not yet available. http://www.grandforks.com/mld/grandforkshe...rts/8967693.htm Didn't realize the the US had a decent nucleus of players returning from last year's team; I thought almost all were done with their junior careers. Stafford, projected to be a high first-round pick at the NHL entry draft later this month, is one of eight returners from the gold-medal winning 2004 U.S. team. The others are Jake Dowell, Dan Fritsche, Patrick O'Sullivan, Matt Hunwick, Jeff Likens, Ryan Suter and Al Montoya. O'Sullivan and Suter also played in the 2003 World Junior Tournament........ Games from the 2004 National Junior Evaluation Camp will be videocast live at the official site for the 2005 IIHF World Junior Championship, www.worldjuniors2005.com, and www.usahockey.com. For ticket information for the camp or the 2005 IIHF World Junior Championship, visit www.worldjuniors2005.com.
  15. Starting with the English departments.
  16. In fact, if you google to motels in those cities, you'll find AmericInn's in Grafton and Crookston (forget Grafton, price comes up at 180/night ), Super 8's in Crookston, Grafton, and Mayville, etc, etc. Lots of choices, and looks like rooms could be booked at any right now for any of the World Junior dates, except during the medal round, which appears to be filled both in and near GF.
  17. http://fightingsioux.com/sports/mhockey/re...RELEASE_ID=2887 And did you get one of those $8 seats for TB's game 7 Stanley Cup win?
  18. Canada has not yet posted a TV schedule, will be interesting to see if any US stations (ESPN?) picks up any games, since the NHL may (probably) won't be playing any hockey. No doubt TSN will broadcast games again, but what will happen to the directtv Center Ice package if there is no NHL? Nothing yet on USA site, guess we'll be waiting until late this year to know anything about TV. BTW, Brent Sutter (Red Deer Rebels) has been named coach of Team Canada.
  19. If you have a partner(s?) to travel with, the Destiny Tour packages out of Winnipeg are a decent deal. Options of portions of the tourney as well as the whole thing. There are also some partial game(s) packages available there. Game Tickets Only: (Corner upper bowl seats, no hotel) December 25-27: CDN $195 (currently 142 US) (SVK-CAN, RUS-USA, SUI-BLR, CAN-SWE, USA-SUI) December 28-30: CDN $195 (GER-CAN, CZE-SUI, BLR-USA, CAN-FIN, USA-CZE) January 1-4: CDN $335 (244 US) 6 Medal Round Games (add 2.4% if paying by credit card) May be better off buying a whole package from the REA and selling games that you can't be at to recoup some of the $.
  20. An apt description of your posts here today also.
  21. You Goph fans are all Happy, or Happy wannabes. Post negative stuff about Sioux goalies enough and "hope" it comes true. Good luck with that Briggs guy. Maybe the younger dmen will be better in their own end than Ballard was, although the chances of having one as good on the PP is slim.
  22. Just buy a Sioux jersey in the REA shop, put it on, and you'll be set
  23. Lydman in, Commie out
