  1. Guessing you were present at the news conference. Listening on streaming audio, I had to guess at the questions based on what the answers were. Anything come up on the GFH, unnamed source, etc. Didn't sound like it from the answers. Guessing at the 3-4 week upcoming process was in response to a question about who the new asst coach would be?
  2. The text, "Full Story", has been up on the USCHO main page for several hours, and finally, a link to PCM's article. Very good, Pat.
  3. Questions and answers for Hakstol going on. Can't hear the questions being asked, only the answers. In that case, I assume Berry gets that title now. Sounds like they'll not comment on the other assistant possibilites right now. Stay tuned for the GFH and unnamed sources for more information
  4. No decision yet; working on it for next 3-4 weeks. Berry is an assistant. Don't know that associate is a title given to a college assistant.
  5. Ditto. And, by the way, the conference is being streamed from the game audio link on the front page of this site
  6. PA and Dubay were talking about the possibility of KFAN airing the press conference this afternoon on the morning show, which you can stream on your PC from links at the KFAN web site. 2PM, however, may be during the common man??? or hartman??? show, so who knows. If you can stand even a couple minutes of his (common man) show it may be worth checking out if there are no other options.
  7. I agree, and I didn't post what I'd think "failure" might be since I don't know. Obviously a poor season would be one, but, would a failure to make the FF be another? I think the expectations for this team to reach the FF, after the past two season failures, is super high, and Hak could be the recipient of unfair criticism if this team does not reach the FF. I do think they must perform well enough to make the tourney, at the very least, however. The hiring process and the circus that it's created should not be the standard for Hak to get flak or not, but, like it or not, with all the rumours flying around for the past week, it could well be. No doubt the current players are very comfortable with Hak and Berry, and the team shouldn't skip a beat with them now in charge. Any current players, dmen especially, jumping ship for an NHL contract could change drastically this teams' success. With Hak and Berry both being Albertans, I do like the chances for a continued pipeline in recruting Canadian juniors, but I wonder what Blais' absence might do to recruiting success in MN. Hopefully, none. Fortunately, some very good SSM recruits are kids of Sioux alumni, which should help the MN pipeline continue. In addition, the Morehead pair (Lee, Vandevelde) have been quoted as saying the change in coaching does not change their decisions, good again.
  8. Little room for error, indeed. On the one hand, a nice position to start in with this very loaded team, but, if they fail along the way, Hak will take the heat.
  9. Sports out of Minot reported the news conference would name Hakstol as head coach (surprise!!!). Thomas out of town, unavailable for comment.
  10. Virg has managed to turn this into as big a circus with his "unnamed" source as he usually does when stirring the pot with unsubstantiated Gopher rumours. Congrats, Virg.
  11. No doubt true for the US campers, but what about the Fins and Swedes. Wouldn't guess many, if any of them would be interested in US colleges, but who knows.
  12. Nice to have all these youngsters visit the REA, both in August and again in December (for some of them). Possibly there are Swedes and Finlanders with college aspirations? Stafford can be the salesman, although the facilities speak for themselves.
  13. Accounts, posters on boards, internet speculation?? ZPar, by all "accounts", didn't have ND on his list either, during the time he was still too young to recruit.
  14. We're here to help
  15. Chorney story from the GFH.
  16. Copied from the CC board. At second glance, it's the 03 team (discussing Chad Rau who supposedly verballed to CC).
  17. US Select U-17 dmen: Defensemen (6): Jonathan Ammerman; Taylor Chorney; Erik Felde; Johnathan Kearns; Brian Lee; and Ryan Turek.
  18. GFH Poll
  19. Chances for a TV deal in the US have improved a bit. At the very least we may see it on FSSN.
  20. Ducks and hockey simultaneously; what could be better
  21. Seeing Blais mug in articles and behind the bench on TV, came to me that I wouldn't recognize the "others" behind the bench, so, had to see what Hak looks like: And, his bio. A captain whereever he played, and, I don't mind seeing a Canadian at the helm.
  22. Absolutely. Ducktober is not that far away
