  1. Optimism? Wrong forum.... Thanks for posting, will check it out.
  2. 2017: 18 sacks 17 QB Hurries 2016: 24 sacks 36 QB Hurries (excludes Playoff game)
  3. Am I upset about this season? Hell yeah I am. Am I giving up on this team? Hell no I'm not. Even with the Youth/Injuries I still felt our offense had the talent to score 30 PPG against the typically mediocre defenses we play. We didn't seem to make any adjustments when things weren't going right, bottom line, you gotta get your best players the ball in positions they can succeed. If the OL isn't opening holes, Santiago isn't going to hammer out any, but maybe JJ or Brady could at least plunge forward to get 3 yards to keep 3rd downs manageable. I think that's why people are all aboard the Fire Rudolph train, we still expected more out of the offense. I'm hoping this was just the perfect storm where everything that can go wrong went wrong, and is just an anomaly when we are looking back 5-10 years from now. I hold this team to FCS championship expectations, I did going into this year, I still do going into next year. Let's get everybody healed and bulked up, look into adjustments we can make, and go fill out the rest of our recruiting class while not forgetting about those already committed. Hoping for some good gets yet, hopefully a scholly QB. Also, with all the injuries it seemed like our defense went ultra conservative, but when we still chose to be aggressive wasn't our defense playing better?? e.g, Northern Colorado, Portland St, 2nd half EWU... Is this just something in my head or anyone else notice this??
  4. DL was the cream of the crop in last years recruiting class, so very nice to hear they are looking good.
  5. Speaking of DL recruits, anyone heard how guys like Ott, Morrison, Seguin have looked in practice?
  6. Per Tom Miller.... UND football has received a verbal commitment from 6-foot-5 TE/DE Ryan Schoenfelder of Goodhue, Minn. The next UND TE who won't be thrown at?? Or another addition for the DLine?
  7. Not really feasible probably, but I'd be interested in Freund calling plays using rudolphs playbook for rest of the year....would be a hell of a way to evaluate Rudolph. Lol
  8. Wow, that's crazy to think that Michigan's student section is 1/3 to 1/2 their enrollment. But is it fair to compare an FCS to an FBS program? How do we stack up compared to other FCS programs?? In overall attendance and students attendance.
  9. Might be in or en route to MSP for the game Saturday, what are the options for radio coverage there? And streaming while I'm asking.
  10. I was somehow able to stay optimistic throughout the Mussman years, if I could do it then, I can do it now. Thank God there is beer at the games.
  11. Was at the game and didnt really see anyone that was trying to get everyone else going, more so a lot of dejected and tired guys out there. After last year we should have known they were going to come out and try to punch us right in the face and we still didnt look ready for it. I think how we react to this game and play Saturday will be more telling of this team than last week. These are just my opinions and I obviously could have missed something.
  12. Prediction: we will overreact to a loss, and be unsatisfied with a win.
  13. Just re watching the game and saw this play. There was a defender coming right up the middle and Santiago made a nice pickup to allow Studsrud to shift over and even make the throw at all.
  14. John Pempek Kenny Miller -we're the millers
  15. Conner Thiele Matt Dillon - in Something about Mary
  16. Also, Hopefully the students don't flood the exits in a tighter game (or any fans for that matter, except maybe the opponents ) after they announce the winner of Bubba's bucks. It was a little disappointing to see, but I can definitely see why they would, game was already in hand and an 8 am tailgate start for a 4 pm game makes for a long day. Overall, I'd say hands down a better student section than anything we saw in 2016, including the playoffs. Keep it up Students!!
  17. what's frustrating with Rudolph is there are times when he is just brilliant and times when he's so predictable and blah. Maybe he's got split personality disorder???
  18. Disterhaupt can hold his own at ILB, and I thought Rastas looked pretty good in his debut. If Larson is back next week and is as good as advertised, we will be alright there. Also saw Nevermann playing some but didn't really notice how he did, anyone notice how he looked?
  19. With this Larson injury, hopefully it just means other guys will step up and we'll have a healthy Larson as a stud SR ILB in 2021. Also interesting to hear Shannon's redshirt pulled, wonder if this will have any effect on blubaugh's being pulled or not
  20. Main problem for tailgating is to get more people doing it. we can debate the perfect way to set it up now, but unless we pack the lot full of people, its kind of a failure any way you do it. I know we'll get there tho. I'm kind of intrigued by the tailgate pass for every game and pass exchange concept. Maybe there is a way to track your groups passes/spots so that if your spot doesn't get used for X amount of games, say more than 2 reg season games, that your spot gets moved to the back of the lot for the first offense (meaning for the following season) then lose your priority for a spot all together the second offense??
  21. Of course things can change, teams have ups and downs, but you schedule games years out. My point mainly being that as of now has there been a tougher non conference FCS schedule, on paper, than 2019? I'm hoping for a FBS game for that year, a BIG conference opponent would be nice. The FBS game money is really nice for the program and athletics in general, plus you have to have confidence in your team to compete against whoever you schedule.
  22. With the 2019 non conference schedule already including tough games @NDSU and vs Sam Houston St, any chance we are looking at trying to get a FBS game? or are we probably just filling it with a home game of the mediocre opponent variety?
  23. What a stable of RB's we have. Past two years we've averaged around 45 rushing attempts a game. Would like to see something like 15 carries to Santiago (plus touches in the pass game), 10-15 for the Manitoba Moose, 10 to JJ or Gordon, hot hand or whoever earns them in practice, leaving 5-10 for Keaton and the jets. And I've forgotten Captain America, might as well let him pound the rock a few times.
  24. Some season stats like Pts per game, pts allowed per game, rush yards per game, pass yards per game, total yards per game, same for yards allowed....just some common ones
  25. Nice start so far to the 2018 class, but what/who are you guys hoping to add to complete it? For me, 1. Ron Audette (probably wishful thinking, but he'd look damn good paving holes for guys) 2. a QB - firm believer you should get at least a decent one in every class, if they don't pan out they are usually the best athletes on their HS teams and can move to other positions. 3. a RB - I know I know we're loaded, but optimally you can redshirt them and have them not even play until sophmore year, so by then you're looking at 2020. when JJ and Gordon are gone. 4. DB's - I like the additions of Kauppinen and Siegel, but always nice to get some DB depth 5. OL HOGS, HOGS, HOGS......can't have enough of them if we are gonna dominate the line and run the rock.
