  1. 1. Cam Hunt- showed flashes last year, stays healthy this year and has a big year. 2. Alex Cloyd- big time recruit/athlete finally puts it together along with Rudolph learning what a TE is and Ketteringham finding him. 3. Ketteringham- whoever wins the QB battle is hopefully gonna break out, and I'm thinking Nate's the guy. 4. Sequin- hopefully all 4 of him, Ott, Morrison, and Honerlaw become studs, but I'm gonna pick Sequin here as the guy who breaks out first. 5. Blubaugh/Nelson- I'm gonna cheat here and pick 2, neither of these guys are expected to start, but Nelson just seems like a straight up bulldog who makes plays and will find the field. I still think Blubaugh was a real good recruit who just got thrown into the fire too early. I think he's a guy who lives football and improves drastically in year 2. It just seems too easy for holm and harris to be good enough and healthy to lock down the position all year.
  2. Fair points above....but at least someone in the coaching staff has to have realized how bad it is for our program to not recruit QBs regularly...had to waste Studrud's first year, and then didn't seem to have any depth behind him when he got injured. The school to the south seems to recruit highly touted QB's in every class, knowing the value of quality depth at the position. I realize we probably aren't going to land a highly touted QB every year with our system, but I haven't even seen many offers for some either, at least this year. Can't get any if you don't try. Disclaimer: I will give credit to the staff for getting more transfer QBs in, our depth at QB is probably the best it's been with this coaching staff, but still we should be recruiting one quality QB and one RB every year, then we really only need to hit on them every 2-4 years.
  3. So......Are we even going to try for a QB in this class or just pick up one last minute again? Doesn't seem like I've read about much interest or offers for one. Other than that and the fact I wish we had more commits at this point, I'm liking how the class is shaping up. Always nice to get some local/in-state kids, grab a couple hogs for the OL, and Riviere was a really big get for us, and if I recall correctly was one of the first players we offered.
  4. I'll miss watching Geno play for UND this year, but if him leaving somehow leads to Jones gone sooner, that'll honestly more than make up for it to me. Geno's a good player, but I'm not sure we were built to make a big run this year anyway. Maybe it's a case of grass is always greener, but I just think we can do better than Jones. I've never been impressed with him and don't think he conducts himself that professionally on the sidelines (seems like he's always whining and over-reacting).
  5. Considering I hope we're playing 15 games next year.....Easy Buy on both.....
  6. Don't forget about Cam Hunt at ILB too....as it stands now the overall depth and presumably play at ILB should be a lot better than last season barring *gulp* injuries...
  7. Chavildo van Ommeren?
  8. Last year made me wonder if Carter would be better off at Safety, but I've got no support for my opinion. Anyone else feel this way or want to prove why this isn't a good idea?

    2018 Season

Prior to 2016, I was very optimistic, thought we'd be in playoffs for sure, definite top 10 team....even after going 0-2, an NDSU friend of mine was harping on me about Bubba getting fired already to which I laughed at him and said, I still see us going 9-2 or 8-3.....I mean we'll figure it out we are 2 plays away from 2-0.... Prior to 2017, I was very optimistic again.....I thought, After Richmond these boys are out for total redemption this is the year we show the gap is closing, we're coming......I thought we had it.......then......ufffda....I was still optimistic until UC Davis, that one all but broke my back, but I still thought, heal up, make a run get in the playoffs and it's on......then Montana happened..... Prior to 2018, I'm still really optimistic, I'm so ready for the season to start to get this horrible taste of 2017 out of my mouth, and if it's this bad for me? I can't imagine how bad it should be for the players and coaches. What if it was just the injuries? What if Rudolph didn't think Stutsrud had the arm or the OL was good enough to open up the playbook? ........This really is a huge make or break season. The only thing that is certain, is that if we go 0-1 I'm canceling my season tickets......
  10. I've heard NDSU fans tell me for the last two years they were going to buy UND season tickets so they had tickets when NDSU plays us....I've always said go ahead, support our program....
  11. For the love of God let's get some of these kids..........
  12. https://www.foxsports.com/college-football/story/jacksonville-state-n-c-a-t-in-potential-fcs-kickoff-matchup-020118 This article, albeit from beginning of February, made me to believe Jacksonville St was already in a contract to host the FCS kickoff game, they were just trying to schedule the opponent.
  13. Honest question, besides having to go through another search and hire process, Would anyone here really miss President Kennedy?? I haven't really paid that close attention to what he's doing, so I'm actually asking for opinions that are probably more educated than mine. (my opinion is that he's been average, not hurting us but not exactly irreplaceable.)
  14. Good Old Ball Cupping
  15. Almost a lock to land a big time QB recruit in 2019......rumor is NCAA FB for PS/Xbox is coming back then.
  16. Guys from the Wiki who committed elsewhere, some already probably mentioned. OT Evan Clark, 6'3“, 270, Derby (Derby) , KS Has offers from WY, WIU & SDSU Missouri Western State University OT Mitchell Kay, 6'4”, 300, Long Beach (Long Beach CC), CA N Arizona?? 17. Looking back at the start of this thread, we had a really poor success rate on the JR day invites and early offers. Really quite depressing. Still hoping for a couple more surprises to complete this class.
  18. I saw this too, I was hoping I was wrong and it wasn't him. This really hurts for his potential draft stock, his biggest knock would probably be durability, and then to be hurt on the national scale isn't good. Hopefully he can turn in a good pro day somewhere as I'm just guessing he won't be at the combine.
  19. This guy looks like a pretty good athlete, seems like he reads and makes plays pretty easily. 6'2 200 lbs 4.44 speed listed on his Hudl.
  20. Thanks. After your post I did see that already committed Garrett Maag made an official visit. (Via Undfootball360) He also made a mention to recently offered Marcus Vaughn Jones being there. I'd be happy with this get at this point. Got excellent size and watching his Hudl I feel like he has good ball skills.
  21. Anyone have any idea what potential recruits were on campus this weekend?

    2018 Season

Thought I read $500k for Washington somewhere on here. Got 450k from Utah.
  23. I didn't mean to say we wouldn't be happy with these new prospects, but to put it in terms of my golf game would the older offers be considered a Birdie compared to the new offers as a Par?? I'm still happy with both, just happier with one over the other.
  24. so with this being the first year of the split signing days it might be tougher to answer, but should we expect any more commits for awhile? or not until a lot closer to the signing day? Also, I like seeing offers, but does new offers at this point in the game mean we are giving up on others already offered who might be potentially better or are we just finding these guys and deeming them worth an offer?
  25. https://twitter.com/RonaldAudette/status/942801373783052293 Not the only school susceptible to potential FBS poaching....recently picked up an Oregon St offer, has yet to sign anywhere, but was committed to NDSU
