I like Kett, but what's starting to grow on me are as follows....he panics too fast in the pocket and normally just backs up instead of throwing it away or scrambling, he can't seem to avoid sacks, his throwing motion is pretty long, he doesn't seem to take shots down field enough. Obviously it's possible not all of this is his fault, maybe our OL should do better, maybe our WR aren't separating enough, maybe the coaches have some blame. Just starting to feel like our offense was clicking better with Zim/Schuster.... Zim took more shots, Schuster more mobile. Just look at the sacks allowed per game by QB. Whatever it takes, let's just find a way to string some wins together.

I'm going to have fun no matter what, but if we lose this game because of poor QB play by Kett for 4 quarters. I'm not watching if he's starting the following week against Idaho St.

I'm not sure it's necessarily a full blown talent issue, but more so not maximizing the talent we have had. Most would agree our classes have seemed to have gotten better the last few years. Hoping we can finish strong like we did last year, almost feel like we need to in order to match last year's class. The main things that I feel have haunted us are in game management, special teams, and maybe playing with a lack of fire/urgency/emotion at times. Also, an interesting look at scores quarter by quarter so far this season. Quarter US Opp 1st 31 28 2nd 9 35 3rd 41 17 4th 20 23 Totals 101 103

Anyone going to the game Saturday or ever been to Cheney/Spokane area? Any tips? Friend of mine moved to Seattle so 2 of us gonna visit him and incorporate the game into it.

“The next two weeks are not season-defining but are important, nonetheless. The Eagles are ranked #11 in the country and the following week UND gets #4 UC-Davis at home for Homecoming.“ -UNDFB360 I see nothing about this quote that even gives any expectations. Whether we go 2-0, 1-1, or 0-2, there's still a lot of season to be played thus it's not season-defining. Can't get too high or too low. They just say it's important, which they are, even if you expect to win them. I have as high of expectations as anyone, it's time for deep playoff runs, not just to make the playoffs. Find me whatever combination of coaches/players it takes to achieve this. Until it happens, I'm still gonna cheer this team on week in and week out.

What's the opinion on the level of difference between Schuster and Grover? Obviously we're all hoping for Kett/Zimm (apparently unlikely?) to both get healthy, but just curious on people's thoughts. Sure would like to be able to save the redshirt on Schuster. Cedric Who???

38-10... We win 2018 Montana style. Sick of hearing tough schedule. Let's be the tough team on opponents schedules.

What happened to DE Honerlaw again? Injury right, but was it career ending?

In order to break up the theme of mediocre predictions. I'm predicting 8-3 this year. Losses at SU, EWU, and a random game that they shouldn't and we'll wonder what happened. also keep in mind that teams can fluctuate from year to year, maybe UC Davis isn't the team they were last year, same with Weber, Mont St, etc...yes on paper right now, tough schedule, but I also think we'll be a tough team.

I feel like there's a lack of experienced depth on the OL, but not necessarily a lack of talent. I don't think OL will be a weakness, I'm expecting a few guys to break out. Projected starting OL looks good to me plus one of Helgren/Russo, Ventrelli is talented, Mortels solid if he can get healthy, and Nguon is a Swiss army knife that can be used in about any OL position, very valuable.

4. In case you want to visit Emerson, Manitoba after the game, it's about an hour and a half from the stadium. lol......

Had a nightmare we lost to Drake and it was so awful to watch. Woke up in a panic. But since I've read some articles and gotten pumped back up again. Man am I excited for the season. I'm loving this coverage from the Herald, they've stepped it up this year. Also always love most of the content from this board.

Who knows if jdub's theory is right or not( if they were still pursuing him), but honestly most schools probably only target a certain number at each position give or take in each class. Obviously you don't just offer your top rated recruit at each position and wait until he commits somewhere. You somewhat flock shoot, maybe you offer your top 5 at the position, obviously you want #1 to commit, but if #4-5 commits and you haven't heard anything from #1, you're probably gonna take the commitment from the guy who wants to be here and maybe that means you don't have room for a scholarship for that #1 guy anymore. Sure if #1 calls and says he'd come, but it means you have to tell the current commit he's got no scholly offer you surely could, but I'd rather recruit with integrity where if you commit to an offer, we'll stand by it. Regardless still a very nice get for NDSU. Congrats, see you Sept. 7th.

F. .......not really expecting too much action on the recruiting front, but at least the season is getting closer. Can't wait.
-
That was Reagan Jones. Said he was announcing commitment 8/7. QB/Athlete out of Kansas

Could see a lot of shirts pulled this year given the 15 or so games we'll play this year....
-
I see quote on herald article Boltmann getting reps as holder on FG's..... honestly he should be #1 holder it he's any good as his speed and passing ability would set up fakes beautifully. Obviously you don't fake FG much....but the threat would impact things
-
First things first, I'd like to see enough of Grover. Also they'll wanna get Zim some time. If we see any Schuster this year that probably means we're having a really good or a really bad season.
-
If Ott were able to get healthy and recover, any chance he could move to an LB spot down the road? Might not be as hard on his knees that way.
-
Thanks. good build. lot of RB highlights too, I like LB's that are athletic enough to play some RB.
-
"Some guys we are watching are Nate Valcarcel, Jaylen Devries, Bo Belquist, and Wyatt Pedigo. - und360-kelly" Who's Wyatt Pedigo? Also, noteworthy....from one of the QB offers, Reagan Jones tweeted this last week.
-
Over/under 4 more commits after Thursdays elite camp? Hoping for the over, would love to add some skill guys to the nice collection of Hogs developing in this class.
-
Southern Utah......we're gonna rest our starters after locking up the #1 overall seed at 10-0. Hockey team is home vs St. Cloud St that day, so we'll probably even just forfeit beforehand so everyone can get to that game of course.....
-
Oh I'm definitely renewing my tickets, just thought it was a fun way to promote UND football. Even if they aren't doing a raffle they could still be promoting to renew your tickets. You are definitely right on having more reasons to renew this year. Remember, 6 home games is only the minimum, would you be happy with the minimum?
-
So last year we already had the season ticket renewal raffle going on. This year I haven't heard a thing about season ticket renewal yet, we're already behind last year. Shouldn't have any excuses with an AD that's had a year on the job, and the hockey team shitting the bed again so wrapping up that season earlier than normal. Anyone have any info if we're doing this kind of thing again? I thought it was a nice touch and another way to generate interest.
