  1. As of right now there's only 2 auto bids that aren't ranked above us I believe. San Diego in Pioneer league and whoever wins the Patriot league. All the others are currently in top 25. So just looking at rankings we'd need to get to #22. Take out Ivy league since they don't participate as well as MEAC winner who would opt for Celebration bowl (3 teams currently) Our current #26 position would technically be #23. However this is all just based off the coaches poll and we have no idea what the actual committee is going to do.
  2. Correct. He already commented about Pioneer league so I didn't mention them again. We just have to keep winning, that's all we can control now. One positive is #23 SE Louisiana plays #24 Nicholls St on the 21st. So there's one team we should jump. Hopefully a few more in that range lose too.
  3. The Patriot league winner will get an autobid therefore stealing a spot from someone in the top 24 teams. If it was simply top 24 teams make playoffs the Patriot league would be left out this year. Just a way I analyze where we might sit as far as playoffs.
  4. Patriot league definitely gonna steal a bid, just looked at standings..flat out awful conference this year. Don't forget the MEAC and SWAC champions usually opt for the celebration bowl. Florida A&M (#14 in coaches poll) currently in line to be MEAC champion. There's also some conferences where unranked teams still have a shot to get the autobid. Gotta root for the favorites to win those.
  5. Seems like better odds to win the lottery than this happening. Just unbelievable.

A&T would've been a unique home & home opportunity. They did play a game on 9/26 tho so not sure if they would've been interested.

As of right now UNI and Sac St would probably have seeds and they have 3 losses....I'm guessing you guys will have a seed even with 3 losses. I'm not saying we'll get a seed if we win out, but there's a 3 loss seed or two this year.
  8. At times In first half Sac St was moving the ball well. TO's and Drops killed momentum for them. Would've been interesting to see if their QB didn't get hurt if they would've made it a different/closer ball game. Hopefully they put enough on tape for Danny to find some weaknesses.
  9. I'm not even so sure...UNI took Iowa St to 3OT, played Weber tough on the road, beat Youngstown, plus reputation usually gets them in. Games against WIU and Indiana St at home and @SDSU. So if they lose to Illinois St today, they likely finish 2-1. They're 7-5 with an FBS loss. Meanwhile Illinois St has zero quality wins and schedule remaining after today @SDSU, vs Mo St, @Youngstown. A win today finally gives them a quality win with no bad losses like ours. Say they split their next two that puts them 8-3 headed to Youngstown. 7-4 if they lose today, and 7-5 if they lose to Youngstown. So both teams have very realistic chances at finishing 7-5. If we finish 7-4, I think we're in over Illinois St but honestly bet UNI at 7-5 gets in over us, usually do. Either way, let's just win out and take care of what we can control.
  10. Any idea on what percentage of FCS teams stuck with 11 game schedules vs 12? Not playing 12 games leaves FCS playoff candidates at risk http://www.espn.com/espn/wire/_/section/ncf/id/27963562 via @ESPN App http://espn.com/app
  11. Student discounts at REA...like the idea, wish they'd give it a shot at the Alerus, but probably wouldn't result in any improvement in student attendance anyway.

I'm guessing SIU loses one of those 3 winnable games anyway. With the 12 game schedule there shouldn't be any 6-5 teams in the playoffs unless they win their conference bid. (of course excluding UNI, they're in regardless)
  13. Isaac Moore 91 played some too. Freshman
  14. A QB? But we don't recruit those seriously.
  15. Ummm ...I felt last week was a must win honestly.

  20. By quick math Cam 34 touches 183 yards 1 TDs Brock 17 touches 196 yards 3 TDs So far Brock's shown more big play ability, but both have good numbers. Let's keep getting both the ball in scenarios they can be successful.
  21. Other time he ran he had both on. Noticed in EWU TD run he had no gloves on. So probably more of something random than a tell.
  22. Few random comments. Great team win. Rewatched part of game this morning. 1. Noticed on play Boltmann was looking to throw (then ran for nice gain) he had his right glove off. Something opposing defenses could potentially key on down the stretch for a read run/pass. Not sure if it'll ever matter, just an observation. Love the way he's played/been utilized so far. Also shows the value of recruiting HS QB's, they are usually one of the best athletes on their teams so if they can't stick at QB they probably can contribute at other positions. 2. Good bounce back game from Nate, did enough to get us a Win. Hope to see that kind of play continue/improve. 3. Was kind of disappointed with the last drive of the 1st half. We get the ball at the 18 with 1:24 left and 2 timeouts. UC Davis had 3 timeouts so I understand why we ran the ball first two plays. But after two very nice runs by JJ, we call timeout with 24 seconds left at the 44 yard line. At that point I'm thinking you need to try for some points. Instead we give it to Mckinney and allow clock to run out. We had them backpedaling, offense was clicking, points on that drive really could have took the wind out of their sails. 4. Leach WOW, Peterson Woof.
  23. I like Kett, but what's starting to grow on me are as follows....he panics too fast in the pocket and normally just backs up instead of throwing it away or scrambling, he can't seem to avoid sacks, his throwing motion is pretty long, he doesn't seem to take shots down field enough. Obviously it's possible not all of this is his fault, maybe our OL should do better, maybe our WR aren't separating enough, maybe the coaches have some blame. Just starting to feel like our offense was clicking better with Zim/Schuster.... Zim took more shots, Schuster more mobile. Just look at the sacks allowed per game by QB. Whatever it takes, let's just find a way to string some wins together.
  24. I'm going to have fun no matter what, but if we lose this game because of poor QB play by Kett for 4 quarters. I'm not watching if he's starting the following week against Idaho St.

I'm not sure it's necessarily a full blown talent issue, but more so not maximizing the talent we have had. Most would agree our classes have seemed to have gotten better the last few years. Hoping we can finish strong like we did last year, almost feel like we need to in order to match last year's class. The main things that I feel have haunted us are in game management, special teams, and maybe playing with a lack of fire/urgency/emotion at times. Also, an interesting look at scores quarter by quarter so far this season. Quarter US Opp 1st 31 28 2nd 9 35 3rd 41 17 4th 20 23 Totals 101 103
