It would seem our small forwards have GROWN. Jackson Blake 2022 ht/wt: 5'11"/165. 2023 ht/wt: 5'11"/173. +8 lbs Owen McLaughlin 2022 ht/wt: 6'0"/156. 2023 ht/wt: 6'0"/172. +16 lbs Riese Gaber 2022 ht/wt: 5'8"/163. 2023 ht/wt: 5'8"/170. +7 lbs Griffin Ness 2022 ht/wt: 5'11"/170. 2023 ht/wt: 6'0"/184. +1 inch/+14 lbs I take roster specs with a grain of salt, but assuming these heights/weights are relatively accurate, this is very impressive (assuming that the extra weight is mostly muscle). OMac and Ness in particular stand out. I think it's fair to assume that these weight gains represent many hours in the gym and likely a lot of discipline when it comes to nutrition. And Mark Poolman's guidance. Atta-boys all around. -
Like, in all of college hockey?

Nothing seems unrealistic anymore. If you had told me in, say, 2010 that eventually the B1G would include Rutgers, Maryland, USC, UCLA, Oregon, and Washington (but not Iowa State), I would not have believed you. Now? Ellifino.

Someone mentioned that Murphy’s dad played at UND, and I thought, No way does Wade Murphy have a kid old enough for college hockey!

Rizzo is definitely ready for the show…should sign ASAP. A no-brainer, really.

And the healing can begin.

Dangit, I hate the end of summer. Even though it means college hockey is getting closer, I still hate the end of summer. Now I've got to go outside and work, even though it's so hot. Ugh. -

Job posting open for one week? I suspect they've already got the guy. James Patrick and Brad Berry didn't overlap at all, did they? -
We can't all be @Prison_Mike.

Spending a fair bit of time over at eliteprospects.com, and man is that the laggiest, slowest website ever. I swear there's modem sounds in the background.
-
Right. In his podcast, Schlossman reminded the listeners that last year was VERY slow for commitments. We didn’t get our third commit until sometime in November.

Thanks for posting this.

Wow. That is elite-level recall. +1000 bonus points for you.

He ends up so high off the ground, he's like, "Oh boy, let's see here, gotta be careful getting back down..."

On a brighter note, it’s cool when you meet someone who knew a former player really well and he says, “That guy is one of the nicest people I’ve ever known.” That happened to me today. I truly believe that most of those who play for UND are genuinely decent individuals. It’s why I continue to cheer.

I wonder if Miller will play in Europe.

A gjallarhorn? Heck yeah.

Agreed. I really like our pipeline AND we need to win more battles for the highest-end recruits. It’s both/and, not either/or.

Fantilli was going to come in at 16...11 isn't all that different, is it? We all saw how well early enrollment worked for Doogie Howser, am I right?

To survive and even thrive as an independent is very impressive. ASU has a lot to be proud of.

Holy cow, good memory! While an odd number isn't ideal, it isn't an insurmountable issue. It's a bigger headache for the regular season, as one team will always be without a conference opponent. There are pretty standard approaches for the postseason tournament, as has been mentioned in this thread. The best* option? Top eight teams qualify. Period. It's both simple and provides a natural reward for not finishing in last place (even though teams will have a slightly differing strength-of-schedule due to the "pod" approach of regular-season scheduling). *Best means "that which is closest to my opinion."
