I was pretty young then, and I just thought that the ‘87 team was a normal Sioux hockey team. Dominate everyone, 100-point scorers, NHL-caliber goalie, brilliant coach, national championship? I guess that’s just how we do things in Grand Forks. Little did I know that that team was exceptional even by UND’s high standards. We were spoiled.

NCHC just announced that as a result of the scuffle at the end of the second period of tonight’s game, a two-game suspension has been issued to Tyler Kleven.

Didn’t you hear the announcers? Zam’s hit was totally fine, UND was gooning it up, and Cleveland was just sticking up for his teammate.

The atmosphere at Lawson was great when we were there.

For a few years in the eighties, the intensity of the Wisconsin rivalry might have surpassed that of the Minnesota rivalry. Most physical hockey I can recall.

I’d add Quinnipiac to one of the top couple of tiers. Also, UND’s special teams has a little bit of hot and cold to its game so far this year, but when everything is clicking, this team can beat anyone.

The picture quality of the main camera is terrible.
