Got your message; I hope everything is okay good sir. Thank you for the update, but know that there are many circumstances to which this can be moved to the backburner with full understanding.

Don't see anything wrong with it. Manpower with travel is limited until NCHC tourney

Need two wins this weekend. Can't accept anything less. 3-1 tonight for the good guys

They've been saying that about the yield every day for the last week. -
UND @ Omaha -- Regular Season Finale 3/6 & 3/7
SiouxSherm94 replied to stoneySIOUX's topic in Men's Hockey
Might be helpful to post what that is unless you want this response to be labeled a redundancy. @Zypher per the post in the 2021 thread, Marriott in Aksarben sounds like it's been the one historically. Best of luck to you both, and have fun this weekend if attending the games! -
UND Provost DiLorenzo to Retire June 1, 2020

Although I support the idea and like where your head's at, my guess would be.... there's no chance. Quite a big jump and well-deserved, at that. -
Close win tonight. 4-3 UND.

Their President, Dr. Nido Qubein, was the keynote at a higher ed tech conference that I attended in Orlando last summer. I'm having a difficult time locating the picture he used in his presentation about the constructive expansion (likely not public-facing), but man, it is INSANE. The main theme was around building a community and driving inclusiveness. Their campus culture has improved incredibly and he said that every facet of modernizing their campus was done with students of all backgrounds in mind. Athletics is high on the priority list for expansion, but I can tell you that, at least at the time, hockey was not a priority. Maybe things have changed now that they've officially announced the $1B investment. Excited to see what the future of that institution will bring. Qubein is genuine and very charismatic.

UND Provost DiLorenzo to Retire June 1, 2020

Big part of the problem while Kelley was here and has been a lame duck since he left, besides playing host to big names that visit our campus. Also was a yes-man to Kennedy on a number of occasions. Questionable hire at best with the number of votes of no confidence, starting during his days at UAB. Common reports of hostile work environments and creating rugged relationships. Paul Lindseth, who is one of the nicest and most reputable leaders on campus, even had a tiff. Right there with @Kab and @SWSiouxMN. This is going to be very, very good for the new administration having TDL gone. -
While Westgate isn't anything to write home about in my opinion (having lived a short walk away), the entire entertainment district would play as a great host if we were to play at/in Gila River for a weekend. Plenty of bars (including a Fat Tuesday), 5 hotels within walking distance, Tanger Outlets right across the street, and an ever-improving Desert Diamond Casino a couple blocks north. I would be a big fan of this proposal if it came to be.

Never too early to get this going. #1 UND (#1 Pairwise, NCHC) with a big two-game tilt at the Herbie vs unranked SCSU (#27 Pairwise, #5 NCHC). SCSU is still in the hunt to clinch the last home spot for the NCHC tournament, while UND is sitting atop the conference, nearing in on its' first Penne Rosa since the 2015-16 campaign. Last series result was a sweep by UND, with an outright 4-2 win Friday and close 2-1 OT winner on Saturday. My feeling is the same outcome with a more lop-sided result this weekend, as the Huskies are posting a mediocre 6-5-1 record at home and less than stellar year overall. Fri- 6-2 UND Sat- 5-2 UND

Also, looking at the scope of things between the natty team and the team in the year following. Brock had 60 points in 42 games. He stayed, only racking up 34p in 32 games, considering a wrist injury that kept him out a majority of the first half. Flip side, you have Gersich, who only had 11 points in 37 games during 15/16, and comes back not only that next year, but the year after. Significant uptick in offensive production (.93ppg), even if his last year here was a little less (.73) than 16/17. Just a couple examples. These guys need it, and we have a program where, if they stick to the process, it'll translate to success wherever they go next.

Respectfully disagree. It is absolutely deserving of a notch in one's belt and to be held with the highest regards in program history, but especially for those guys respectively (and realistically) looking to transition to the pro level in any capacity, I still believe for most it would be smart to come back. It'll protect the integrity of the program and establishes what could be considered as a foundation/jumping block for continued success. Last part almost goes without saying.

For those of you podcasters: Highly recommend this stream. Led by Andrew Marsh, who's a recent UND grad working for now Lindenwood University and has also interned with the Blues. Schloss was the most recent guest, but they do a great job in mixing up the guests, as well as giving a good glimpse across the NCAA MIH landscape.

Stillwater Area grad here... Business seems to be doing quite well out there, both big box and boutique/specialty. Their Target could use a relocation to a larger space if one was available; tough to be buttoned up with that strip they're in. Not familiar with WBL enough to know about business there.

The atmosphere that our boys created during the Saturday night tilt in November was a special one to be apart of in the seats of Magness, and I have a feeling we're gonna see that same electric presence tonight at home. 5-3 good guys.

University of North Dakota Hockey 2019-20 Season
SiouxSherm94 replied to Frozen4sioux's topic in Men's Hockey
Berry has a contract to finish out. Karl has certainly made his mark on our program as volunteer coach and now assistant, but only having position coach experience in the AHL for a couple seasons to add to his time here, I would disagree with the notion of Karl being first in line at UND. You might be forgetting to insert DJ for consideration. Not even worth the speculation. -
Really hope this spike in goals against and couple of lop-sided losses since the break has lit a fire under our guys' a$$e$ this week. CC has always been a gritty team and is often full of surprises, but knowing the measure of character and resiliency in our guys gives me resounding confidence for a sweep this weekend.
-
Good guys get a solid jump out of the gates, leading to a 5-2 win. Need Western Michigan to take at least one of the games in Duluth this weekend and help drive the wedge between us and UMD in conference standings. Let's go Sioux!

Seeing what's been posted about Andy on the President Kennedy community thread makes me happy that this chain separately exists. This article was the local CSprings publication announcing his retirement, making mention that it happened after a "mass exodus" of STEM faculty, NOT as a result. It isn't even worth speculation that this is a red flag. Considering today's digital age, the only way that I, personally, would consider a "red flag" on this topic is if more was furnished speaking to his elaborate and direct involvement/influence over the faculty's departure. It is unfair to Dr. Armacost if we draw conclusions with little to no information backing them. He is esteemed, accomplished academically and professionally, and well-regarded amongst his former colleagues, and this is all joined by proven leadership capability in Higher Education. As @UND Fan, @Siouxperkick, and @Frozen4sioux have all respectively put it, this is a great hire and we should be extremely optimistic when it comes to the outlook of UND on the short and long-term. I know I am, and could only hope that any pessimism will decrease with his tenure.

While not perfect, I am incredibly impressed by what this young squad has pulled together for a first half. It is very much apples and oranges, but this team has one less loss than the national championship team did through the same amount of time measured. Hoping they can stay healthy, keep the focus and momentum going after the break, and make a good old Nodak run. Sioux hockey here folks. I am one happy fella.

Wow. Utter dominance.

Good going!
