  1. We'll have at least a great defense.
  2. Berry is here and a keeper. Lots of variables to a future decision. Many assets in this hockey program to slip too far. This next team could surprise many.
  3. If I was the AD @ UND and I had to make the choice: I would take either Hakstol, Berry, or Sandelin over Lucia or Motzko. And if it was a few years ago, I would add Blais to the first group.
  4. What don't you understand, I have season tickets at The Ralph, Hawks' Nest, The Betty, and went to last 3 softball games. UND has had thousands of students, athletes, and coaches that have gone on to coach elsewhere. From youth sports, to high schools, to the Berrys, Sandys, to the Phils, Haks, Fitchs, and etc. Many alumni will root for their favorite team and also for a coach with UND connections - when not playing their favorite team. Congratulations Sandelin! Take a break!
  5. The most barely ever, 6 games had to go against MN, but better said - their way, then they win the next four and raise the hardware! Lots of parity through out this season. I've always said, parity stops after conference tournaments, then it's the coaches job to get team motivated and get it done. Motzko hasn't figured this part out yet. Playoff team needs to deal with the added mental stress of potentially being able to raise that hardware.
  6. I don't think there are many that really want Berry out, we were on the bubble. Agree with Oxbow, in that Berry & Sandelin are seated. Motzko would be on potential shaky ground. Sandelin needs credit where he is rapidly getting it done. Your last paragraph explains most, ND MN BC watched, but were on the bubble when it burst.
  7. Teams walked through the red carpets into the X, lots of Doggs fans early.
  8. I've been to a couple of playoff games there on Thanksgiving weekends and it didn't matter where you sat, you froze.
  9. I heard there doing the Betty floor this summer but no idea where the logos are going. Alerus isn't till 2020.
  10. There will be some Sioux behind the bench for the Doggs tonight. Could be a tight knit group! Scott Sandelin, head coach, played 4 years(82-86) at Univerity of North Dakota, also assistant under Blaise. Brett Larson, assistant coach, played at UMD Jason Herter, assistant coach, manned the University of North Dakota blueline for three seasons (1988-91), racking up 119 points on 30 goals and 89 assists in 118 games. Also an assistant under Blaise. Brant Nicklin, Duluth volunteer assistant coach. Played at UMD Christian Koelling, director of hockey operations, a graduate of UMD Chris Garner equipment manger, also for the University of North Dakota women’s program during its inaugural season (2002-03).
  11. http://www.uscho.com/2018/04/06/as-notre-dame-minnesota-duluth-meet-for-frozen-four-title-little-separates-the-sides/ ST. PAUL, Minn. — The Team of Destiny versus the Cardiac Kids. It seems like an apt description for the Frozen Four’s two finalists, Minnesota Duluth and Notre Dame. But it’s not too far-fetched to have to ask which term describes which team. Sure, the Fighting Irish have given their coach near-heart attacks in the postseason, winning five straight games in either the final minute of regulation or overtime. And the Bulldogs, the final at-large team to qualify for the NCAA tournament, making the field by one ten-thousandth of a point, have fought through three straight one-goal games themselves to reach a second straight national title game, this one less that two hours from campus.
  12. Pic with Columbia RD overpass. East bleachers taken down.
  13. The pic is much later, the white car at 50 yard line and ambulance in NW corner are early 60's. In 1927, they only had the west bleachers. Later, it seated 10,000 fans. Home to UND football from 1927 to 2000 and boasts a rich and colorful history. UND posted a 247-88-9 record (.731) in 72 seasons at Memorial Stadium.
  14. Found this program on Bisonville. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Swastika The Nazi party faced it in the other direction
  15. Built in 1927 as a memorial to members of the University of North Dakota community who died during World War I
  16. That's an insult, SandMan is the man.
  17. Nice quality pic. Sure seems longer than 2 years ago.
  18. Will SandMan B de underDOGG 2day? Will his playoff experience get him the Natty? The Golden Buckets have the PRW advantage being at #2 and the Doggs being last team in by the now famous NCAA 0.0001 rpi. Unbelievable story unfolding here today for a UND star alum!

  20. Since we had a big slip last season, this fall season should give us some insight on how ready we might be. We should get much more of a feel for readiness from the September 7th game in Fargo next year. Then, I hope it's in 2020, were we'll know by about 4:30 on a fall Saturday. Fingers crossed on that last sentence!
