Gordie has expressed his desire to be a coordinator, so agreed he is the most likely.

When WR is our biggest need, a terrible time to not have an OC or WR coach named.

At the very least I can tell you he will play significantly less snaps. Like not even in the same ballpark on how he was used this year.

I feel the exact same as you. Preseason looking at this roster I just didn’t see many D1 wins. They have definitely proved me wrong, and that’s with Anderson and the Curtis twins being underwhelming. I hadn’t planned on making many more games this year, but I will make it a point to make it back to the Betty multiple more times this year.

Schlesusner is at New Mexico now, would be quite the downgrade to come back. In both coming back to FCS and in pay. He will stick with Eck and make a good career out of it.

Ultimately, making the right hire here makes everything ok. All I’m saying is this would have been better portal wise if it happened a week ago.

The timing of this isn’t great with the portal opening today. On the offensive side, we need 2 or 3 portal guys at WR, and probably one at RB. The spring portal is an option too, that is when Leigh signed I believe. It would preferable to get them in for spring ball though.

Will be interesting to see what happens. Does Gordie just get promoted? Does Schmidt have a connection from his time with DeBoer that he likes?

Are you saying he made the incorrect read time and time again? Because typically you would either hand it off or throw it. Occasionally you might follow after realizing the throw isn’t there.

We should continue to run that on every 3rd and 4th and short and have it not work in critical situations!
