From what they talked about on the 360 pod, it sounds like you are right and he is doing this to be able to save some money to get quality coaches to come here and spread the salary out. Also, having a dedicated recruiting coordinator was important for him which makes sense considering the direction college football is heading. Sounds like he may have had a couple of longshots for DC that he would have been willing to hire to call plays, but decided this was the best route after they didn’t come with.
