  1. Why do you keep backing up Sioux fans arguments? Snaggles was asking a question as he didn't know the answer. Heres what he also wrote Sultan wrote as you even quoted. BigGame again said it was a jump, but it was minor like many Sioux fans believe. I, Cratter, wrote also Jim will thank you later for backing up his points.
  2. You say Baloney, but then back up my point and agree with what I'm saying? Realize that this being a Sioux Sports site that when a say "a division 2 team" I am generally talking about UND. When I said "just moved" I meant given a time frame of 2-4 years. Within that time frame, UND and NDSU would/should/could be ranked in the top 25, and again you seem to backup the point by saying that with this division 2 UND team that they could possibly be ranked. Now add in a few years, and you have yourself a very successful "just moved up" DIAA team. That is what UND fans are saying. That the measuring stick isn't the NDSU vs UM game, but how easily UNC did in their first year (I realize they are struggling now, but they were never very good in their last years of D2), SDSU, and how NDSU are doing now. You can not argue those facts. Those teams just moved up and are becoming ranked the first few years in the top 25 during the season. It is not that big of a jump. Your kidding yourself if you don't think UND could do the same if not better than NDSU currently does (did).
  3. The fact is everyone knows AA is "better" than D2. Every division you go up gets arbitrarily better, as one would assume. The question isn't whether one team from one division can beat another team from another division in a game, but game in and game out can a team that has just moved to AA from D2 not only beat those teams, but even ranked among those top 20 (25) teams within a few years. And the answer seems to be yes. That is the measuring stick, not the NDSU vs UM game. That sir shows there is not that great of a gap between the two divisions. A gap: Yes. A wide gas (as some NDSU fans want UND fans to believe): No.
  4. Exactly my point. If you don't purchase that pass you have to pay per game. A few years ago everystudent paid that fee so all the games were "free" for them except tournaments, so they didn't need to purchase the pass. That is one of the main reasons you will see less students attending athletic events than you use to.
  5. The students now have to pay per individual games in GF, unlike the way it might have been back in "your hayday." Something like the student activity fee isn't automatically added anymore for every student.
  6. Dave, Heres the part people don't understand about you. "the past?" The facts of the situation show that the GF championship dominance is NOT in the past but the present, but you keep thinking and calling it the past. How is a Grand Forks team winning the state Championship the past 9 out of 11 years the past? Along with the last three? And why do you think South has a better future than RR or Central? Do you have any factual basis besides they have "good years" (based on South standards)? Serious question. "Not a my sons pee wee teams are dominating the gf teams. South beat Moorehead one year."

and that speaks volumes about the programs there.
  8. Good. Lil of his own medicine. How's it feel Bubba? I love this quote.
  9. I think your missing the important point.. And I have possed the question a thousand times, where do other schools get the money? If they can do it so can UND. I am willing to bet there are at least 5 other current AA schools that are no better off financially than UND currently is. Lets cut the bull...UND will be Division I fairly soon. Whether you or I want it to be.
  10. You my friend need to seriously need to take another look around. You are barely worth this post. Talk is cheap and you do a lot of it. You back up nothing of what you speak with facts. You claimed South would win a championship last year cause once again they were "the best" and the '80s" dominance of GF was over, but I came back and proved FACTS that it was indeed not over blah blah blah the dominance is shifting blah blah blah anything to prove that? blah blah blah.....I will predict right now South will win the championship . People who cheer for the Grand Forks teams know how to win and are use to it, but they don't brag about how good their regular season is like certain people and teams. They are also smart enough to know anyone could win in the state tournament. I will once again bring up your favorite Fact: 1995 - Grand Forks 1996 - Grand Forks 1997 - Grand Forks 1998 - Grand Forks 1999 - South 2000 - Grand Forks 2001 - Grand Forks 2002 - Grafton 2003 - Grand Forks 2004 - Grand Forks 2005 - Grand Forks
  11. You never discussed that he may make more money at Mankato.
  12. If you fly or drive a team of 40 or 20 the difference in expenses isn't that great. I don't know why you keep trying to argue the point. A lacross team at UND will not be any more "expensive" than the current baseball team.
  13. That's easy UND is now looking at D1.
  14. Your real question then should have been why don't you move back down? You can't really dispute that IAA football is part of Division I. It says it right there: IAA.
  15. Division IAA is part of Division I.
  16. You really don't think football has a chance to win a championship? Like many have said the move will essentially only be giving up one championship sport at UND and that's womens basketball.
  17. The way its worded is that the men could have national championship possibilities still. I do know what you mean though.

    To support my claim:
  19. Speaking of chip on shoulders, apparently Jess Myers has one. "Despite the etched glass and the marble and the leather everywhere, you still are hard pressed to find folks dying to visit Grand Forks during those months when the prairie winds can chill you to the bone and when reports of
  20. If it was such a no brainer to add hockey at UND, as you claim, Why was it not such a no brainer to add hockey at NDSU at the same time? That is the "dig on NDSU hockey."
