Sounds like a perfect opportunity to educate visitors to the University about North Dakota. Even if Roughriders never set foot in ND etc, at least there's an educational opportunity and a built in history about Teddy Roosevelt/Roughriders. Can't be said about FH, or Nodaks.

Yup I remember reading a couple articles in the Herald about it, (and have previously been posted here) http://www.grandforksherald.com/news/education/3705294-qa-sociologist-suggests-flickertails-und I can't find the other one, maybe someone else knows where to find it.

We're not trying to be the UND Teddy Roosevelts. Did any Sioux leaders ever say anything derogatory in 1910? I'd guess probably many.

The NDSU football coaches website lists more coaches than the UND football website.

Was it planned all along to allow more time for Nodaks (the name the most influential person at UND has publically stated for) to continue to gain momentum? Some people believe so from listening to 1310am today. We are back to the same old rules....*with a new vote sandwiched in between to let Nodaks, the third place vote getter, to keep going.

Then we can switch it to a half decent name like Prairie Dogs. Then maybe switch it back the Flickertails.

Just text my mom, who has worked (and currently) in food service for over 30+ years at UND (bless her heart she is honored now and then in those fancy banquets), and she reaffirmed the position. I'm sure different supervisors within different departments are told different things, but rest assured. It (don't' wear Sioux gear) happens at UND. PS....she said we "can wear them" but "not on work time."

My mom works in "food service" at UND and they are told the same thing.
