  1. Plus usually (near) sold out crowd for world of outlaws racing on Friday night.
  2. Free Hairball concert outside. The Casino in Cass Lake. This Saturday.
  3. Which isn't good if Williston wants to pass Fargo in population.
  4. 218 to 30 something rigs.
  5. Hairball tonight, outside at Tom's Lounge in Forest River. Just half hour north of Grand Forks.
  6. Dimensions probably wouldn't work but replace the parking lot with the softball field would be badass. But I suppose you don't want foul balls breaking windows.
  7. Any renderings of the under construction commercial/residential by the new softball diamond? Would have been sweet if they had combined this new building with the new softball field. L shaped building wrapped behind home plate. With Apts overlooking the stadium....you can grill a dog and play bean bags right above the dugout!
  8. GFers are even flying out of Winnipeg. Had a couple friends recently tell me that was the best price they could find. (Trying to remember where they flew too....maybe mexico...)
  9. Which means the headline next year will be "Grand Forks sees a good size increase in boarding." Grand Forks residents are lucky to have so many flight options within an hour drive.
  10. Market areas are not easily defined. In sparse places like northern mn they can be pretty large. You take out your compass draw a circle around Bemidji in a 45 mile radius. You'll likely get 80,000 plus permanent residents. Plus at least another 20,000 summer weekenders. It's "lakes country" so they are spread out. But Bemidji has both a Home Depot and a Menards which is uncommon for such a small town. Shows how far away people come (market area). Don't think anyone thought the city of Bemidji had 100,000 people. But it's growing fast. Faster than Fargo.
  11. Where do you put societies less desirable people? They need to go somewhere. They do seem to "feed off of each other" (thus probably fueling arguments/fights) when you put a lot of them close together. One area to "only control one spot" or spread them out to other areas possibly deteriorating those areas and having people move/avoid? Societies likely always struggled with this "problem."
  12. Surprised to find out JL Beers in Moorhead had closed. Used to frequent that one often.
  13. Why so many corporations? You see Johnny, grandparents start these companies and grow them. Then their kids inheritant and run it...and then they have kids who inherit the company. And soon there's like eight grandkids who have this company and they ain't attached to it like grandpa and grandma were. So they would rather not have the headache and just enjoy a lump sum of cash at a young age. Valley Dairy Home of Economy How many times has Hugo's had to turn down acquisition? Hornachers ain't owned by Mr. Hornbacher for many years now.
  14. If I was a betting man, "misappropriation of funds" is how I'd bet they got themselves in this mess.
  15. Just skim a little money off each of these megaprojects knowing the next projects investors/banks will pay for this ones shortfall... ?
  16. Bemidji's Super Buffet is pretty good. Might be better than the Panda.
  17. From what I believe is the Bemidji Chamber of Commerce website... That's impressive. Growing faster than Fargo. Surprised I had never heard that.
  18. I heard the boys on the popular Bussin' With The Boys, Sports podcast, say they heard a lot of college athletes nowadays are going to the school and basically saying "how much money are you going to give me" and if they ain't happy with the answer they (threaten to) "enter the portal."

Cboystv, just a few miles down the road, in Cormorant Lake, outside Detroit Lakes. Has amassed quite the following. A group of young guys, 20ish years old. Multimillionaires from video taping themselves having fun and posting it to YouTube. They, also recently uploaded themselves going to a Nascar race...VIP infield treatment of course. At Talladega...the infield after the race is known as The Boulevard...it's like wefest on steroids. Add it to your bucketlist.

From winning a race in Grand Forks, to qualifying 5th today for thr Indy 500. Kyle Larson is quite the driver. Often being called the country's best.
  21. On second thought the current logo sucks and they picked that one. So maybe UND just always likes the first option?! "No way they'll pick this one!"
  22. He was paid per design and they asked him to possibly do like three or four designs. But they liked the first one. And paid him for that one. Because they didn't need any more. Moral of the story: don't do good work the first go round....or have the contract state you'll present them all at once.
  23. They closed multiple today across the country. Months ago, I had heard them complaining about how they lost money on shrimp fest. Edit: looks like they lost $11 million on endless shrimp and are on the edge of bankruptcy.
  24. People still just gather on the rail and watch the game behind the empty seats. Further creating bottlenecks in the enzones.
