I think it was his "old school football" mentality. Punting from there use to be much more common. But the game has changed. Lots more data analytics were brought in. Offenses improved: Bubba grew up in an era of "pounding the rock." And Bubba was slow to adapt. He's a older gentleman. And there's more changes now than ever, especially with NIL and the portal.

There was a lot of these head scratchers....but at least those have slowed down the last couple years.
