Mr. Mollberg may have (probably did) put himself on the hot-seat Saturday. He shortened his own leash. Also, when the run game is missing 22, and 2 is inconsequential, why not go to Shaugabay? Mentioning 22, I suspect (no info) he's not available this week. That shoulder looked not so great. Patrick Sharp will probably be getting reps. Along that same line of thoughts, would UND ever consider a "heavy" backfield: Iverson* at the tail behind Pecosky. Those two on a dive play would get three yards running into a cinder block wall. *That would be flashbacks to the old Christian Okoye KC Chiefs.

I'm looking at Massey Rating and I'm seeing a Missouri State team Massey has as #7 FCS in his power ranking. (Massey will probably predict this game about 35-14 Bears.) This team needs to focus on what it is doing. It needs to improve day by day. After Saturday and what they put on tape, Coach Schweigert has more than enough to get their attention and have them work on. Keys, as always, for UND: Assignment sharp defense, ball-control offense, no mistakes (win the turnover battle).

I'd take #24 for Robert Morris in a heartbeat.

If they don't want to go to bad match-ups they shouldn't be in Fargo this week. The "Incarnate Word" Himself could be on the field and I'm not so sure that'd help the visiting team at Fargodome Saturday.

There's a good answer. I don't (can't stand to) listen to McFeely so I didn't realize he'd gone boondoggle to Utah on the boss' money.

Three points: 1. NDSU is the three-time and defending FCS champion and is riding a 26 game winning streak. 2. Other games around the country all have something to take the shine off them, specifically, SoCar being thrashed already by TA&M so SoCar/GA isn't quite so special. and I think very importantly ... 3. Gameday last week was at the MichSt/Oregon game. Did they really want to do a trans-continental run and setup with all that gear for SoCar/GA? Stop in Fargo on Sep 13. Be ready to go anywhere for Sep 20. NDSU did what they needed to to get a repeat, but a lot of other circumstances (SoCar, Texas, IA State all already with losses) went into it also.

Young team digs self out of early hole, goes on to win. I wonder if Bubba's guys are paying attention.

Question 1: Why would a Bison-rube like McFeely, on the radio home of the Bison, have a Big Sky official on as a guest at all? Why not a MVFC or Summit or Western Wresting Conference official; why not an official from a conference NDSU is affiliated with? Question 2: How do you know a conference official is being "less than forthcoming"?* *Their lips are moving.

So you're saying there's plenty of space up there for a camera.
-
You know what we need? (I know you're reading this Hajdu. ) We need a live (every 15 minutes) camera in the old Memorial press box so we could watch practice and construction.

Apparently that RMU guy never heard of "teh interwebs" ... or opposing teams having bulletin boards ... Or maybe he figured us here hicks in fly-over territory out in the boondocks wouldn't have heard about it yet via the pony express. I hope I don't run out of kerosene before I get the mail read tonight. If we only had that new-fangled E-lec-tric for lights like them fancy fellers out in Pittsburgh.

Long Beach State has put "The Beach" on the basketball jerseys, and their baseball jerseys now say "Dirtbags". They go by all three names: http://www.longbeachstate.com/trads/traditions.html One could easily say they are rebranding, taking on a new moniker and logo, to "The Beach".

Cause Celebre, nothing more.

When the State was rolling them out was in the middle of "the dark times" with the NCAA and the name and logo. Most folks don't want the UND with the flame logo as that's more academics. The interlocked ND is too easily confused with "Our Lady of South Bend". People want a popular, unique, recognizable athletics logo. But the "no new name" crowd doesn't believe that.
-
Great question; I have no answer, other than what's Michigan's logo besides the block M?

Day. By. Day.

A nomination from the Football forum (UND/Bison game thread) that should go here .... it stems from some NDSU fans worrying about Coach Schweigert's "boonie cap" that he wears at practice. A boonie cap got it's name from the Special Forces operators who only wear it when they're out in the boondocks. For the record, let me state here and now, ... I feel no shame; I'm proud of where I came from; I was born and raised in the boondocks. One thing I know, no matter where I go, I keep my heart and soul in the boondocks.

Uh ... nd1sufan brought up "the hat". nd1sufan has the issue. We're working on a marketing plan for it.
-
What's worse: To have a glass jaw or be crystal balled?
-
Yes, but what do you have after breakfast?
-
On this you are more than likely correct.
-
A North Dakota logo "boonie hat" would be perfect. Everyone says we're out in the boondocks (and boondocks is how a "boonie" hat got its name -- you wear it out in the boonies).
