  1. Ladies, congrats on the win, but there is no dishonor in putting them down in three (and keeping our pulses under three digits).
  2. At first I was all happy because I'd get to vote three times: But then I got to:
  3. Where was Kelley with this statement two weeks, months, years, ago?
  4. Yes, key word: DIGITS.
  5. For you, minimum six digits (and that's left of the decimal point).
  6. Seems this thread is back from the archives.
  7. The voting process was announced today. http://und.edu/features/2015/08/nickname-process.cfm
  8. The Big Sky Conference requires: Men (7): Basketball, Cross Country, Football, Golf, Tennis, Track & Field (indoor), Track & Field (outdoor) Women (9): Basketball, Cross Country, Golf, Soccer, Softball, Tennis, Track & Field (indoor), Track & Field (outdoor), Volleyball UND sponsors 21, so beyond those: M/W hockey, M/W S&D, baseball. I do believe it's time to take a hard look at the sport offerings at UND.
  9. I agree with Tom Miller's take. And he's right here: UND is sponsoring 21 DI sports. NDSU is doing 16. UND needs to relook at its sport offerings line-up.
  10. Ryan Bartels plays QB at UND. Frank Bartles hung out with Ed Jaymes.
  11. FIFY. (Just poking fun at you Wilbur. )
  12. Yup. We went through three last season if I recall ...
  13. Most schools pass the licensing off to a licensing house like CLC. https://www.clc.com/
  14. Love your idea , but, it was the STATE of SC's display of the flag so the NCAA decided to boycott the State. The schools in the State got swept up by that. In the UND case, it would be UND doing it so only UND would face the consequences.
  15. Yeah, but then folks would shorten it to 'mongs, and someone would mishear it as Hmong and we'd be toast all over again.
  16. Again, probably Angela Lansbury.
  17. (First, folks, this is about Twitter and Facebook, not politics. Thank you.) I recall a recent, what I would call repugnant, comment by "The Donald" regarding a Fox anchor. It hit the Twit and the 'book and I was sure The Donald was cooked because of the (faux) "outrage" exploding there. Instead, The Donald has shot up even higher in the polls. I don't view the Twit or the 'book as much more than the end stool at the corner bar. Lots of loud aggrandizing can be witnessed, but little comes of it.
  18. If the First Amendment mattered to the NCAA, or came into play at all in this conversation, we wouldn't be having this conversation.
  19. < comment here about Geography 101 at NDSU >
  20. Angela Lansbury.
  21. Yes. That's part of it. That's called "Prudence", also described as wisdom, the ability to judge between actions with regard to appropriate actions at a given time. It along with Justice, Temperance, and Courage make up the four cardinal virtues.
  22. And this sums up the fear of mine when I said "control what's yours to control." The long process (legal, institutional) and cooling off delays have worn many down. (Nothing personal, Mafia, but you exposed the sentiment.) This is exactly the play, the tactic, the folks that got the old nickname removed used, namely grind grind grind. I fear many have reached this same point, ceding what is theirs to control (and what should've been taken care of anywhere from 3 to 8 years ago) to the folks that play the long game (planning to win the war of attrition). Leigh Jeanotte and his minions are smirking. They mastered the tactic. When the battle was lost those of us who care about UND Athletics shouldn't have run away demanding time to negotiate further (with the unwilling) or "cooling off periods" but instead run towards demanding full control of an immediate solution. Well some of us did, but were disregarded.
