  1. Given what I know and what's reported at Iowa, the patterns seem rather coincidental. Beyond that, I make no claims to know others' personal beliefs.
  2. Somewhere between Navy and Iowa on Gene Taylor's resume.
  3. UND has 10 mens and 11 womens.
  4. MIN's collapse is not the worst in the NHL so this season. MIN is in a three-way tie five points behind the second Western wildcard. MON is tied with PHI, and behind CAR and PIT six points behind the second Eastern wildcard. I'm trying Wild fans ...
  5. It's all about The Benjamins.
  6. You're confusing Chicago State (holding nose from stench) with the University of Chicago (the AAU member and former member of the B1G).
  7. Experience is what you get when you didn't get what you wanted. They got experience.
  8. Undoubtedly. But, they will gladly and surely do whatever to "tier below them" to make their own lives easier. If that's change the FBS rules to make more "G5/tier below" teams to make guarantees cheaper, I could readily see that. Plus, it waters that "tier below" down to make the P5 appear all the better.
  9. So a female AAD and a female coach are long-time partners in the department. This Gene Taylor fellow shows up in town and those two are suddenly no longer "golden children" in the department but pariahs that need to be fired or reassigned. I swear I've heard that somewhere before ... but it wasn't Iowa ...
  10. Adidas owns CCM (skates) and Reebok (hockey gear). Do Nike or UA have hockey gear or skates? "Department wide" means covering all needs and all accepting the outcome.
  11. Azithromycin? Is that near Pebble Beach ... or Shinnecock?
  12. Golf clap? Do you get that from playing too many bad holes?

    2016 Season

Tell me about the offensive line. I'll know how things are going from that.
  14. I said if UND were to "give up" the rights. That's different from assigning or transferring the rights. A transference retains control (by a tribe); giving them up (by not using them) releases them to the open market. Again, the key in this: retain control of the mark.
  15. Control. The NCAA wants that logo under the control of an organization (UND) the NCAA can control (or is it manipulate). Were UND to give up the trademark rights the mark goes to the open market (loss of control for both UND and the NCAA). Again, it's not that difficult.
  16. UND must maintain and retain the trademark. See the Settlement Agreement, section 2.j "Intellectual Property". To maintain and retain a trademark (a trade mark) the mark must be used in trade, or as section 2.j says "commercial use". Trade or commercial use means sales of goods with the mark, specifically the name or logo. It's not that difficult.
  17. And battle with a high compete level and be hard to play against and willing to go to the hard places.
  18. Are we gonna let the elevator bring us down? Oh, no let's go! Let's go crazy; Let's get nuts; Let's look for the purple banana; 'Til they put us in the truck, let's go!
  19. Look at it this way: the Wild are tumbling, but at least not as badly at Montreal. https://www.nhl.com/standings
  20. What would happen if BUF (0-4) and MIN (0-4) faced each other in a Super Bowl?
  21. Not a fan of the bottom ... thing (is it a body, or a jaw).
  22. < hanging head in shame > I gave up on the boys that day. I turned off the TV, got in the vehicle, and started driving to town to pick up some stuff for the fridge and for projects around the house. But I turned the radio on to listen to the close-out. And then somebody finally broke a tackle*, and I almost drove into the ditch. * (c) E. Schmidt
  23. Ed Schafer is in the rare and unique position where he'll be liked after this interim role no matter what. Plus, he's in a period of time where action has to happen (per the Governor). And he also knows there are some things at UND that needed to be looked at one way or the other. Ed, quite simply, has the opportunity to tighten up the ship and no one can really say much about it (see 4%). Right man, right time, right place.
  24. Budgets were set when oil was closer to $100 per barrel, and before ag commodities fell also. Today oil prices are ...
