Yeah-right. "Do as we say, not as we do." -- NCAA
-
Based on that, NMSU going FBS Indy makes sense. It wasn't Idaho, but you know Idaho fans are going to latch onto this with "Why are we going FCS!?!?!"
-
Data courtesy @JPGroves ( Las Cruces NM Sun-News Sports Editor ) Seems going FCS would cost (as in net negative) NMSU over $1 million.
-
All you need to know about the NCAA is that they won't play in a facility with this logo, but they'll play the 2017 Frozen Four in a facility with this logo splashed all over the place. Makes total sense ...

Are we talking four year players or the guys who were a playa for four years? Two very different answers.
-
As I said back then, ... 7 and 9 make 16.

I'd say they're setting them up for the "stink eye" ... patience.

They're talking about frost on Saturday morning. It's mid-May and we have case in point.

I moved the divergence here about baseball into the Faison Press Conference thread. Thanks for understanding.

And eliminate a ~$500k expense. It doesn't net out in baseball's favor.
-
Shhhh ... I know that. But I want ChadR to be in a position where Schmaltz news is a let-down.
-
Hey, I'm happy it's an easily explained solution.
-
You've set the bar high with that. Now the only way you'll make me happy is if Jost has a certain defenseman in his stick bag when he arrives in Grand Forks. Anything less and you're a poseur, a facade, and a sham.

Brock Nelson's been added to the US roster at the World Championships in Russia.
-
I'd say the Idaho reports make the rule change a moot point. The WAC already has the power. Then again, in light of that, would the NCAA be more open to still doing the rule change SV hypothesized.

Based on the linked schedule, all that happened yesterday (and today) is heptathlon and decathlon. The actual individual events competitions start Friday.

If they wanted to count players' tuition as revenue, would they include the academic costs of players in the baseball budget analysis, or just direct baseball related expenses? You want to claim the revenue, you take the expense also. Baseball revenue; baseball expense. If you include academic tuition, you must also include the academic expenses in the accounting. I'm no accountant, but I understand "T-accounts" enough to know if you want the credit on the books you also get the debit.

Folks, view this from the other direction: Most recently, men's tennis was added for the Big Sky. Before that women's hockey was added. Prior to those two offering changes (correct me if I'm wrong) the last offering change was when wrestling (I guess today to be PC I have to say men's wrestling) was dropped. Now, two men's offerings are gone. The next time the "stink eye" needs to go at offerings or budgets, clearly, it's a women's sport. But no matter what, the budget is balanced. And I trust Ed Schafer's decision making. (Face it, Faison recommends and opines, Schafer decides.) For a school this size, If you didn't realize that 21 sports is a DII department and that a reshaping would happen in a DI world, you are naive.

The font on the nameplate is wrong.
-
And none paid to attend.
-
The return of gfhockey! Yee-haw!
-
Who were the other finalists for the MSU job? Did any of the others have DI FBS experience? If they didn't MSU was forced to, as you say, Slummit.
