  1. I dream about winning the PowerBall. Which'll happen first.
  2. But everyone gets a participation medal.
  3. The fine lady from Killdeer with this petition has as much chance for success with that tactic as she would going outside and screaming at the sky to not drop 3" diameter hail on Killdeer ever again (as it did last night).
  4. The Mill is interested, as are other entities interested in other Minnkota properties that may become available as a part of Minnkota moving west of the I-29 truck stop.
  5. It's a 60 oz mug of green beer left over from Mafia's St. Patrick's Day party. He just found it behind the empty bag of Cheetos at the end of the bar in his "man cave". Yes, he said "58"; he took a sip before he set it down four months ago; he took another sip just now when he found it, before deciding to sell it to all you suckers.
  6. Their existing facilities on Mill Road are a disaster.
  7. When you're a hammer everything looks like a nail.
  8. http://www.desmoinesregister.com/story/sports/college/iowa-state/randy-peterson/2016/07/05/peterson-column/86723254/ Bowlsby says "the top 80 or so". That aligns roughly to what Nick Saban and Karl Benson (SBC commish) were saying five years ago. Now this guy with this same smoke.
  9. Plus, they got to hear (and see) feedback from people who really, truly do care. (If you're ripping on it, you do care*.) My guess is you'll see an outlined version where the N is cleaned up (to have an upper right feature) and the "D" has a center. My next guess is the hawk will be overlaid onto an outline of the State. (Note use of word "guess" twice; no inside knowledge here either.) *Remember, the opposite of love isn't hate, it's indifference.
  10. Gee, reading all this I'm recalling words that some poster put out long ago. "Control what's yours to control." Instead, back then, folks were petulant in the belief that UND would defeat the NCAA when it was clear it was lost. Rather than making lemonade, many were holding onto lemon that they were sure would magically recast into daisies. And during that time, rather than taking control, the (long, overdone, but very visible) process went on without them. And now those same folks are sure they could've done better (name, logo). So where were they? Why didn't they engage in the process (be it more vocal during the voting, or getting their logo submitted when the process was in place for that) when they could be part of, engage, the process. Notice I didn't say control the process, because that was already long gone (see prior paragraph). Instead now we have folks who are sure they could do better. So where were they when it mattered? Why didn't those now wailing and gnashing teeth the loudest, when they still could, ... "Control what's yours to control." Now, after this diatribe of mine, I close with my most favorite phase. You see, "Control what's yours to control" is not my favorite phrase. My favorite phrase is: I. Told. You. So.
  11. Who ever heard of rotating the color scheme of a logo to work in the context it's being applied.
  12. Then you haven't been keeping up on your reading. http://www.grandforksherald.com/news/education/4066183-kennedy-und-will-stick-name-logo
  13. The NCHC is running 24 conference games now (less than full round-robin 28). If they go to ten teams, that'd be 36 games for full round-robin. Would they look to stay at 24 games?
  14. Change.org petitions are slightly more effective than arguing on Facebook or sending sternly worded tweets.
  15. The die had been cast by Kelley. There was a bid process. SME won that. I know at least one local company entered (Ad Monkeys). If Ed had stepped away from that SME would still be owed the $50,000.00 and then the bills would start with the new provider.
  16. Prof. Whitehead is pissed that Ed Schafer is not Capt. Picard, the great consensus personality. Whitehead wants the inmates to run the asylum. But we've seen what happens with that approach: Kelley's "everyone's voice" process, a vote where we end up with another < adjective bird >, and having to deal with budgets that someone else has to fix because Kelley was "chronically scrotally void" and couldn't say no to spending. I will take a leader, even a leader I may not 100% always agree with, over milquetoast one hundred out of one hundred times.
  17. Montana State paid $18,000.00 for that? Tell me again how $50k for a new logo and wordmarks and lettermarks is that outrageous.
  18. Best guess: The Idaho report.
  19. Missouri State is in the conversation because they have made past overtures about FBS and they'd be the yang to the Wichita State yin.
  20. I'm sure the colorblind segment of Miami of Ohio fans will buy this.
  21. Strange thing is, some of the most recognized and iconic logos in sports are fairly simple and two or three colors. The Dallas Cowboys star. The St. Louis Blues note. The Texas longhorn. The Yankees interlocked "NY". The Seattle seahawk.* *That's a bird done ugly.
  22. Why are fans of the five-time defending FCS champions so worried about the 13 years ago gate revenue of a non-rival, non-conference team? Say SV is right and the new FBS WAC happens: Shouldn't NDSU fans be hoping UND self-immolates in what NDSU fans say would be a bad conference.
  23. 2001 v Pittsburg State 2003 v Winona State 2004 v Grand Valley State You asked.
