  1. Mid grade red chippa? High end white chippa? Whenever chippa conversations start there always seems to be the same sour cream dip around.
  2. If there is it'd most likely be a statement about finalists and campus visits.
  3. I want the other NSU OL also. Yeah, I'm greedy (not to be confused with doing the gritty).
  4. FOR ALL (and @jimdahl) TO READ AND UNDERSTAND: There is a consistent rumor about a player being brought here. To date it is a rumor, an allegation. There has been no public documentation to date. If it's an unfounded allegation you're harming a person; if there is substance, you may be harming an investigation. Perpetuating this rumor puts this site at risk and is a violation of forum guidelines. Continuing to do so, without public documentation, will be met with suspensions. Not a threat, just fair warning. That is all. Carry on.
  5. Duluth (you know who) had a FB coach that got them to a level but not beyond. He left and the next guy, first year, got Duluth a DII FB title (two in three years actually). North Dakota had a coach that got them to a level but never beyond. That coach left for PHI, and a first year guy got an NCAA DI title. Montana State had a guy get them to a level. Vigen comes in and first year he's playing in Frisco. STL was dead last at Christmas a couple years back, and new guy got them a Cup in half a season. Heck, WPG just had Paul Maurice resign on Friday. Why? His words paraphrased -> they need a new voice; he could only get them to a certain level. Sometimes guys, realized or not, are "to a level" guys. They can get you just so far. If you're lucky they move on just in time, when the environment is still ripe, and greatness happens. Stepping away from what you love is hard but often it ends up best for all. Recommend listening to the Paul Maurice presser from Friday. Maurice is a man who recognized his limitations and, well ...
  6. Has he earned it?
  7. The portal is a double edged sword. Caveat emptor.
  8. Wasn't some of the concern that he was having trouble holding (keeping on) weight? Six-foot-five screams tackle, but 285 says guard. Any idea of the plan?
  9. Dear Transfer Portal, Our recruited kicker got Shang-hai'd by a no good former Bison HC now at Kansas State. By chance would you have a solid PK (on and off-field) with a couple-three years of eligibility left just hangin' 'round. If so, let them know they'd be kicking indoors for practice and home games, and three conference opponents have domes also. Thank you, (signed) North Dakota Football Fans
  10. ... leave me wondering why they haven't found a home yet.
  11. By Position: Defensive Back (3), Linebacker (6), Defensive Line (4) Offensive Line (5), Tight End (2), Wide Receiver (2), Running Back (1), Quarterback (1) I like it when they recruit a "one-deep" every year. On defense it looks like they recruited a "forty" goal line defense, like a 4-4 with just 3 DBs this time around; but, that's acceptable. I'm thinking one or two of those LBs may end up at safety. On offense they recruited a "12" group offensive package with a RB and two TEs. Again, I like it. Where I'm disappointed is there are no specialists (LS, P, K) in this group (and that isn't on the recruiting but on one particular K ).
  12. No. 'farce poobah' just went all Don Adam and made it up. Or ...
  13. It's amazing what you can do when you know the referee is looking at your teammate and not you.
  14. Read the Transfer Portal thread.
  15. Because they are comfortably positioned into their niche.
  16. Kleven merely falls into the long line of UND defensemen that remind you to keep your head up. Kleven, Smaby, Greene, Finley, MacWilliam, Commodore, etc, etc, etc,... We just haven't had one of that vintage for a while.
  17. CC is happy with DI hockey and living the niche DIII life in Colorado. Their new hockey arena (3600) would hold their student body (2000) ... nearly twice over.
  18. Omaha? That's more nostalgia than reality. MVC BB used to have the Omaha market with Creighton (now in BEast). The MVC is going after either schools that'll help with NCAA BB tourney payouts or growing metropolitans (to leach students from). Frankly, UNO checks neither box.
  19. < see previous response >
  20. CC is happy where they're at.
  21. I'd like to see Fenton make a power play like this (even if it means "inviting" or "encouraging" UMKC and WIU and Oral Bob to find new homes). The group would be positioned to become the "Western MAC". The conference would own the high plains from MSP to DEN to SEA. It makes sense ... so it'll never happen. And I could start listing reasons why this can't happen, but I'm not sure the internet could hold them all.
  22. This is sounding less likely. UMKC isn't committing to improving their BB facilities.
  23. Weltanschuung? Schadenfreude. The two best words in the German language end up forming a perfect question and answer.
  24. Me, Nashville, Bridgestone Arena, October 30, 6:30 pm: I scroll my Twitter feed to find how UND FB did that day. I see a tweet about a lead (28-17) in the fourth. I joke with the person beside me that that scares me. Scroll. 28-25 UND. Scroll. Other team with ball at UND goal line. Scroll. 32-28 UND loses. That's when I knew it was time to view this team solely based on performance and not people and personalities. Is the performance, from the water boy to the four-deep roster to the staff, meeting performance expectations, measured not by the "who", but by the "do".
  25. I'd be down on Midwestern Hawk if they were just bemoaning to bemoan, but they are pointing to real, tangible items (above, play calls, clock management issue) sitting in the room beside the elephant and the 800 pound gorilla.
