  1. All the bracket info for all leagues here: https://www.collegehockeynews.com/news/tourneywatch/ AHA will be taking PWR 16 slot. The ECAC? If it's not Q'piac, they'll be eating PWR 15 (away from an at-large). Looking at that bracket, to me Q'pack is most vulnerable should they have to meet up with Cornell in the semis. I say that because we know Cornell, when they play the right way, can beat a top six PWR team. < cringe > Otherwise, Q'piac has lost to Clarkson and would have payback on the brain. HEA: Boston College, Maine, and Providence in opening round play-in games. Oh. My. And HEA has PWR slots 12, 13, 14, and 16 today. You have to figure two of those teams (plus AHA and if not Q'piac ECAC) will be four-seeds. Imagine being (assumed one-seeds) Michigan, or Mankato, or Minnesota, and getting your opening game in Worchester MA or Albany NY or Allentown PA against (assumed four-seed) UMass, Northeastern, UMass-Lowell, or BU (or Clarkson or Cornell should they win the ECAC). Those are my musing thus far ...
  2. I've thought of this from the ND HS hockey fan's POV. Midco's POV? I'm guessing they get more eyeballs from NSIC and SL late season hoopsy-bouncey.
  3. ... and that's a mistake.

  5. I'd guess Midco will only bid NDHSAA hockey in odd years (this was an even) because it's in Grand Forks (REA) those years and their set-up costs would be .... < flips switch >.
  6. All would learn well from Matt K.

  8. Why give them any recognition. Let the law deal with them.
  9. They have HALF the season ticket holders today compared to 2010-11. Part of that is "B1G Hockey"; part of that has to be folks no longer able to pay for the whole season package by selling one weekend (when UND comes to town).
  10. That is a quality idea. < tips hat to you >
  11. If we need a replacement for Sanderson we stay with the recruiting pipeline.
  12. GP PTS Pt% RW RL OW OL 4 Minnesota-Duluth 24 36 .500 9 9 3 3 St. Cloud State 24 36 .500 9 8 2 5 SCSU is getting the home series based on what tiebreaker? Fewer regulation losses? UMD has more RW+OW but not the home ice?
  13. The only way I think a two-game season series should be used as the tiebreaker is if the road team swept.
  14. Omaha is better when they play with skill and not let their emotions drive their play. If that means sitting Abate ...

  16. Here's the better look: https://www.collegehockeynews.com/ratings/probabilityMatrix.php Based on that, UMD (99.1%) and UMass (98%) would need some "one in fifty" or "one in a hundred" scenario to knock them out. There's a real HEA schmozzle there from 12 to 16. Somebody is going to get a harsh end to their campaign. PWR16 is at-large poison right now. The AHA champion is getting that. PWR15 is not much better. Anyone but Q'pack wins the ECAC and PWR15 is at-large poison. Not as likely, but if other than MSU-Mankato or Michigan Tech wins the CCHA, PWR 14 is gone to the at-large as well (looking at you NMU and BSU Beavers). If you're N'eastern (PWR13) or UML (PWR14) right now you'd better be winning games or you're in that 15/16 poison bubble.
  17. Back in the day of Big Ten Football it was Michigan and Ohio State, Schembechler and Hayes, and the other eight. “History doesn’t repeat itself but it often rhymes,” as Mark Twain is often claimed to have said.
  18. Random musings ... using KRACH ratings: Miami (60) @ DU (474): KRACH says Miami should win 1 in 9 games with DU. DU is 4-0 already this season. Maybe Miami gets one? Or not. CC (66) @ UND (403): Per KRACH, CC should win 1 in 7, and UND is 4-0 already. A little scary ... Omaha (199) @ WMU (424): Omaha should win 1 in 3, and they've only played twice, a split at the 'zoo. I see three games. UMD (277) @ SCSU (352): UMD should win 45% of head to head games, and they each have a win and a SOW. I sure hope this third game is on television.
  19. If you're speaking of any team in maroon and gold I get nauseous, no matter what they're doing.
  20. Uneven season series (only two games, and in REA) so the head-to-head tiebreaker does not apply. Next tiebreaker is conference regulation wins and DU has 17 and UND has 16, but both have 53 point so title is shared. GP PTS Pt% RW RL OW OL 1 Denver 24 53 .736 17 6 1 North Dakota 24 53 .736 16 5 2 1 All the tiebreaker means is DU gets the tournament top seed.
  21. Motion has a second. All those in favor say 'aye'. Aye.
  22. Strategically, things played out well: Won the league regular season title (x3) Driscoll didn't get run twice on the weekend (just once, ) Gaber and Frisch got a full rest weekend
  23. The PWR top 16 this morning ... CCHA B1G NCHC B1G NCHC NCHC NCHC ECAC B1G CCHA NCHC HEA HEA HEA B1G HEA No HEA teams in the top 11 of PWR this morning ...
  24. UND did win the regular season title. It is awarded on league points, and 53 can't be beaten. (Tiebreakers are only for post-season seeding.) For reference that 1997 WCHA regular season banner in REA was shared.
  25. We've never seen him in a Sioux uniform.
