  1. Two questions remain at top of mind with me: - Will the returnees naturally progress and the offense produce? - Will "Hellboy" and "The Riddler" make us forget ... what was his name again?
  2. (I swear there's an echo in here ... because I do this every couple years ... ) If you want to learn about the various entities, and how they operate, as non-profits they file Form 990 with the IRS. You can view those here: https://www.guidestar.org/ Ralph Engelstad Arena related entities: UND Arena Services Inc <-- management of facility and engages in other 501(C)(3) allowed charitable, educational activities (like running tickeing for UND) UND Sports Facilities Inc <-- appears to own the arena based on (depreciated) assets RE Arena Inc <-- operates the arena Then there's ... Engelstad Family Foundation <-- effectively Ralph's estate at death, controlled by trustees Betty, KEM, Jeffrey Cooper (Ralph's friend and accountant), and assistant trustee Sean McGarry (yes, KEM's son). This is NOT the arena. And it has assets ... UND Alumni Association and Foundation
  3. Not if it came from the Engelstad Family Trust Foundation. (People are very sloppy with language on these matters.)
  4. Trade him to BOS. They need their next Papi.
  5. Last 15 games MIN v STL, MIN record is ... 2-11-2. The Blues gotta be blaring this out of their locker room at this point.
  6. I don't want to hear this. ... maybe this year's organizer should get a bonus 375 points ...
  7. The REA complex (REA, Oly, Betty) was original price of over $113,000,000.00. Putting $5M into maintenance and upgrades of the facility is 4.5%. And this round cost UND nothing (as the Engelstad Foundation covered it).

  9. Most selected players this year (of the 9 participants): Makar 8 <-- I'm the one who didn't take him Ekblad 7 McKinnon 6 McDavid 6 Huberdeau 6 Fox 5 Barkov 5
  10. Yup. That's exactly what some of these late picks are hoping for -> a late shocking catch.
  11. It's not the NCAA; this is an internal U of Michigan investigation headed by an outside law firm, WilmerHale. https://www.mlive.com/news/ann-arbor/2022/01/law-firm-investigates-michigan-hockey-over-allegations-of-covid-deception-toxic-environment.html WilmerHale has found UMi wrong and at fault in past investigations to the tune of $490 million. https://record.umich.edu/articles/u-m-reaches-490m-settlement-with-anderson-plaintiffs/ What's this Pearson investigation involve? The accusations summarized: Head coach Mel Pearson “instructing students to lie on their COVID-19 tracing forms” ... at the infamous Fargo 5OT regional. Pearson and Director of Hockey Operations Rick Bancroft discriminating against female staffers and “creating a toxic work environment for female support staff.” Pearson retaliating against a student athlete for “raising concerns” about the hockey team’s culture. Bancroft knowing about sexual misconduct committed by the late athletic doctor Robert Anderson.
  12. So you're saying we're into "Bradshaw to Harris ... incomplete ... no, wait, TD Steelers!" (against the Raiders) time? We'll draw out the "olds" with that reference, won't we.
  13. If there's no agreements, laisse faire. < shrug >
  14. And former US NTDP guy Ryan St Louis (presently at Northeastern U) got selected in the first round! Why am I snickering? Oh, now I remember why ... this! https://forum.siouxsports.com/topic/32660-2022-23-university-of-north-dakota-hockey-season/page/40/?tab=comments#comment-1239904 Stats for comparison: St Louis https://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/pdisplay.php?pid=228230 Spicer https://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/pdisplay.php?pid=238292 Ryan St Louis "is" Cole Spicer plus one year of age to the day (meaning height, weight, stats) and St Louis is going from college to the USHL.
  15. Grand Forks based Minnkota Power (MPC) is dealing head-on with the "threat" on that billboard at their Young 1 and 2 power station. It's called https://www.projecttundrand.com/ and is carbon capture. A similar group is against Tundra. MPC just made a deal with Summit Carbon Solutions to take CO2 off of ... corn plants ... and store it in the same wells that Tundra would use.
  16. Curious that it's not considered poaching or tampering.
  17. You were so-o-o-o-o close ... ... for HS graduation or your GED.
  18. So not one but two former U-18 US NTDP players are giving every appearance (admitting?) that they're really not ready for college and willing to go to the USHL. If they were "college ready" another school (transfer portal) would offer them; but instead a USHL team is willing to give them a shot, and again no USHL team is risking its first pick on something they know they won't get. These kids will be going to the USHL. Maybe they should've gone to the USHL for a season after the U-18 program before trying college. < cough > ... Spicer ... < cough > Stats for comparison: Ryan St Louis https://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/pdisplay.php?pid=228230 Cole Spicer https://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/pdisplay.php?pid=238292 Ryan St Louis "is" Cole Spicer plus one year of age to the day (meaning height, weight, stats) and St Louis is going from college to the USHL.
  19. Interesting that the USHL draft is picking guys already on AJHL teams ...
  20. My comment about "freshman" must've been heard ... now Portz.
  21. This is good. His confidence should be back after the BCHL and he's playing close to home again.
