FBS in this region has what I'll call the "UND in BSC" problem: The closest FBS G5 schools (MWC, C-USA, SunBelt, MAC) are 700 miles away, and their conferences go out from there. Sound familiar? Sound like "UND in BSC"? OK, so full membership is costly (travel) and hurts fan travel. So why not FB-only membership? To a G5 conference that might get poached, a FB-only doesn't help maintain FBS status. You need 8 all-sport members.
