NCHC members North Dakota, Denver, and Omaha are also Summit League members. (Summit League's St. Thomas plays in the CCHA.) If the NCHC wanted to save overhead they'd fold into becoming "Summit League Hockey" because they already know the commissioner. But if we're going to speculate on "one-sport conferences" folding into all-sport conferences ... MVFC teams NDSU, SDSU, UND, USD, Western Illinois all are Summit League teams. They'd need to find a friend for football for six ... like St. Thomas (already SL, but Pioneer FB). If Fenton pulled in the NCHC and formed Summit League FB, he'd have a DI conference with G5 influence without being G5.

There is no way Miami would leave the MAC, a G5 FBS conference, for the Summit League. Period. With that the author told me he knows nothing of conference alignments.

There are more players playing the game at a high level, but the same number of college programs. Of course there'll be Providences, UMasses, and Yales that pop up ... and fade. Being in the hunt every year is the key.

The problem is not lack of interest. It's lack of engagement to remind the bars when games are on. UND should be sending the "schedule poster" with Midco games highlighted to every bar in the state.

I didn't say I like the short term tactic, or gimmicks, but recognize it for what it is. This'll kill @geaux_sioux, but tell me about the offensive line. That'll tell me all I need to know.

I've seen two different 2023 mock drafts that have Jayden Perron going late first round. I've seen Strathmann projected mid second. As I've said, last year they came up huge, and not just for 2022, but for 2023 and maybe 2024. That has to have some impact this year. (Guys know where other guys are.) But yet, somehow, Boisvert is coming now also. And I do expect more.

They're making teams prepare for two known-quantity, but very different style, QBs. It's a good short term tactic, but I don't see it lasting.

If "titles matter" how'd Cooley end up at UMn (2003) and not UND (2016) when it was down to those two. Titles are one factor in an n-dimensional array of thoughts and concerns these kids (and they are kids) have.

Now who's lowering expectations? NDSU should have no issues with a 1-23 in last 24 Arizona team.
