In the middle of program cuts and faculty layoffs they are looking for three new deans for their seven, no, wait, now just five colleges? And soon a provost too. Their "strategic investments" seem, well, in Cook's words "Additional investments will be dependent upon the result of the legislative process." Having spent a little time schmoozing state leaders and legislators in Bismarck the last couple weeks, that's a tough climb.
