Why? The 2020-21 season did not count for anyone. It does not count against anyone's "five academic years to complete four seasons of play". No one was given an "extra" year. 2020-21 just didn't count against anyone. UAF didn't play in 2020-21. Jandric played two competitive seasons before at UAF and two after (at UND).

You have five academic years to complete four seasons of competition. Albrecht didn't play in 2019-20 so it was not a season of competition (but it was first of five academic). Before you bring it up the 2020-21 season counts as neither an academic nor competition year for anyone: 2020-21 never happened. Albrecht: -20, -22, -23, -24, -25 are his five academic years and -22, -23, -24, -25 would be his four competition years. Alternatively, Frisch did play in -20 so Frisch: -20, -22, -23, -24, -25 are his five academic years and 20, -22, -23, -24 would be his four competition years.

I saw Luke Bast in one game, in Fargo, the spring before he was to go to UND. He didn't pass my "eye" test as ready but I'm not in charge.

I know what you're trying to say but you don't "grab" players: a player enters the portal; a team offers the player a slot. About half the players that go into the portal do not find new homes. And Mbereko isn't entering the portal ... unless UW hires the CC HC, and even then, hmmm, where would Mbereko land ...
