  1. This place sure is owly. I can't imagine what it'd be if Goldy had won ...
  2. You mean Perron and Emerson? Panzer got hurt. They could bring Croal if they had to. And two defensemen? They have four if not five.
  3. Wrong comparison. We got nothin' from Monty compared to Weatherby. If Johannes rolls a 5-10-15 (optimistic) and busts a guy's jaw for hacking on Blake (video, please) that's a far better "have to find a guy" pickup than Monty (and is comparable to Judd even).
  4. What part of "late backfill for Judd" don't you see?
  5. When the Q went down 2, I wrote them off. I posted "Game". As I've said, I was wrong. I underestimated Q. I forgot this game: On the road, harsh environment, give up 2 to go down one ... five unanswered.
  6. Like Wisconsin when they had 40 in the pipeline and anyone with fingers and toes could see the math didn't work? Our problem at D right now is Frisch didn't use the Covid year, Kleven signed, and 4, 6, and 24 portal'd out. If anything we might be pulling pipeline in early (see: Strathmann).
  7. This to me is the significant red flag. The rest is noise. I'm happy for the portal in one way: Last time we had a surprise departure we got Montgomery for Weatherby. Dare I predict Johannes for Caulfield turns out better.
  8. We have four Fs that'll be 19+ on Oct 1: Croal, Emerson, Panzer, Singleton. Two aren't ready, one's an enigma, the remaining is inbound. Of the other five pipeline Fs, Perron is ahead of schedule; the rest are on schedule.
  9. That should be the conversation, not Johannes the rental to replace Judd. So do it along with me ... because I have to the longer we don't hear about D ... In through the nose, out through the mouth, breathe in, exhale, serenity now, serenity now, ... in, exhale out, ...
  10. Sure am glad you didn't get a vote on recruiting Tucker Poolman <- the late-bloomer's late bloomer.
  11. Johannes was the second highest available scorer at his announcement. And he's big and his PIMs say mean. Again, he's a one-year backfill rental. Judd's rights being traded (PIT -> ANA) and then signed after he said he's returning probably caught them off guard. This is amazingly good under that scenario.
  12. Or is someone else scheduled for off-season work that they're concerned about? Not saying, just wondering aloud.
  13. A Schloss's article earlier today strongly hinted at going 16F this year. It said "one more" even with Johannes. A couple-three D depending on Strathmann staying in the USHL.
  14. Chrona finally moving the wife, kids, and grandkids out of Denver.
  15. Ah, now I understand ... yet the old upperclassmen won.
  16. I knew there was something fundamentally wrong with it.
  17. The Q roster has 11 Sr or Gr. Those are upperclassmen. They've played games and gathered experience. https://www.collegehockeynews.com/reports/roster/Quinnipiac/47
  18. If he does that with all the other options, well ...
  19. Defense is like the old LawnBoy mower my parents had: Guaranteed one-pull starting every time on that. Offense is like a 1970's era Briggs and Stratton four-stroke motor: It may start right away, or you may need to visit a chiropractor to work on your shoulder and elbow. I say if the offense is running you leave it running until you're absolutely sure (like up 3 with 5 to play sure).
  20. This game showed college hockey is still an upperclassman's game. See also: Schlossman's tweet about only one first round pick in the last six years has won a title. Most of Q's team picked up a Championship hat and their first Social Security check on the same walk.
  21. If this wasn't just a drop-in replacement for Caulfield (but with some edge) I'd be concerned.
  22. Minus Kleven plus Johannes. Net better. And we needed a guy to "wear the badge" to protect our smaller forwards.
