2022-23 University of North Dakota Hockey Season
The Sicatoka replied to Frozen4sioux's topic in Men's Hockey
Key word: Rare. To me the portal could quickly become an addictive drug: Quick fix that makes you feel good short term but creates chronic problems. -

To your point, the defense this off-season could be a real conundrum. If we need five, we've kept 4, 24, and likely 15 (or less likely 25). You bring the five in the pipeline. If we need six, depending on the two left standing, you could bring in six from the pipeline or five and a portal. If we need seven or (gasp) eight ... yeah, the portal is no longer an option, it's necessity. That's how I think the portal should be used: necessity. -
The US House Energy and Commerce Committee announces a subcommittee hearing on Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) DATE: Wednesday, March 29, 2023 https://energycommerce.house.gov/posts/chairs-rodgers-bilirakis-announce-hearing-on-protecting-nil-rights-for-college-athletes Who know what'll come of it, but interesting just the same.

Not an experiment I'm willing to try yet this season (what's left of it), but I bet UND's average GPG goes up without Gaber. Why? Guys settle into the easy part of their role (smart, safe game) when they know someone else will take on scoring; but when that's gone they realize they need to step up and chip in.

What was Sather’s xG and xGA or do I have to ask @Oxbow6 or @MafiaMan or go straight to Schlossman?

2023-24 University of North Dakota Hockey Season

That section is an “exceptional” nightmare to read. I’d say the summary is: this season counts as season of competition for Brent Johnson. -

Shouldn’t something like that be easily referenced in the DI manual? Wait, that’s logical and this is the NCAA. -
Interim Flyers GM Danny Briere did not need these headlines. I’d say a father son chat is in order but apparently that should’ve happened long ago and did not.
-
I’d be good with it but he was nearly gone last summer. I’d be stunned if he returned.

That's almost predatory to sports not football. They haven't claimed an injury on Brent Johnson. I guess it's as you say, " ... you play one game, you lose the season." And your "30%" calculation is what I get (except I get a 42 game NatChamp season: 34+4+4). @Hammersmith, thank you for confirming what I believed to be. -
Kaiserleven from UMND gone after his JR season.

Q: How do you keep a forum full of BB bobos and jamokes in suspense? A: They'll tell ya next week.

Dare I say we popped their balloon?

I'm not sure what inspired me, but I am so glad I changed "rooms" to "room" before I hit "Submit Reply".

NHL 2023: Predict the Opening Round of Playoffs
The Sicatoka posted a topic in Non-collegiate sports
The first NHL post-season game (more to follow after the regular season ends): Predict the eight Cup opening round matchups. That's it. Picks must be in by March 24, 2023. Winner? Bragging rights. -
When the UND season is over you'll be able to replace the six-letter "K" name with another and change the M to and N.
-
I'd start with DI caliber players that want to play at UND for Coach Sather. Sounds simplistic, but is it?
-
Wasn't me. Think it was @jimdahl.

Work it out.

He would've looked good in green for two seasons.
