I just read the Chiliwack statement on the run of Hedquist. Teleguine's season should be done. Their HC/GM Brian Maloney should be suspended for a game for this: Do not tell me he's a "great leader" and a "good kid" after that video. The statement should've been the first paragraph and the last sentence. Nothing more.

Jake as fourth coach? I can only come up with four or so better names in the first five seconds ... Ulmer, Smaby, St Clair, Chyzyk, ...

In a scenario where Jake is on staff, no issue. The other point remains: Not staff? Don't contact.

Sounds like an awesome recruiting violation. Last time I looked Jake could point a kid out to staff but not approach. Same goes for you and me. The only way someone like Jake can talk to a potential recruit is if he had a pre-existing relationship with the recruit or their family. (I knew the Frisch family before Ethan was a recruit.) Bottom liine: See a special player? Tell Bubs or someone in UND Athletics.

This. There's a flood on the market with guys looking to use a final year of eligibility based on 2020-21 not counting against them. This is especially true of Ivy players because Ivy rules only give you four academic years on their campuses.

Why? The 2020-21 season did not count for anyone. It does not count against anyone's "five academic years to complete four seasons of play". No one was given an "extra" year. 2020-21 just didn't count against anyone. UAF didn't play in 2020-21. Jandric played two competitive seasons before at UAF and two after (at UND).

You have five academic years to complete four seasons of competition. Albrecht didn't play in 2019-20 so it was not a season of competition (but it was first of five academic). Before you bring it up the 2020-21 season counts as neither an academic nor competition year for anyone: 2020-21 never happened. Albrecht: -20, -22, -23, -24, -25 are his five academic years and -22, -23, -24, -25 would be his four competition years. Alternatively, Frisch did play in -20 so Frisch: -20, -22, -23, -24, -25 are his five academic years and 20, -22, -23, -24 would be his four competition years.

I saw Luke Bast in one game, in Fargo, the spring before he was to go to UND. He didn't pass my "eye" test as ready but I'm not in charge.
