  1. What's the difference between that and the NDSU QB sellin' beds for Comfort King(?). Both would be "Name Image Likeness" deals. Nelson already had one with an insurance company.
  2. I'd guess they're waiting for all the hoops and permits of "full go" on construction before saying anything. That diagram had lots of moving pieces (steam pipe moves, street reconfigurations, skyway, and that's before buildings and stadiums). See 10 of 12 here: https://www.grandforksgov.com/home/showpublisheddocument/47674/638191595078670000
  3. CSU is a fine institution, but it's not the State University of New Jersey (aka Rutgers). Rutgers always wins because of media market (NYC eyeballs) and AAU status. Athletics? CSU.
  4. The "public" in this case is primarily the land (UND) and the TIF from the city.
  5. OVC just brought soccer in-house. That's how we got here. Pretty sure Fenton isn't going to convince TX and VA schools to fly over the OVC to the Summit.
  6. "DONOR FIELD" is a nice touch ...
  7. The over-Columbia "Bridge to Nowhere" goes somewhere! I like that they show an overhead walkway going south, but to what? Another freestanding tower down the the Hawk-way? All the way to MVI would be a heck of a span.
  8. Google a little and you'll find "ownership issues".
  9. Oliver is best described as having "Motzko Syndrome": great season, so close, but can't finish the big one.
  10. There's always churn in the USHL offseason. It caught my eye that the "Asst GM" left St Clair's title. And "smoldering" might be a good word for Omaha.
  11. Shake up in USHL Sioux City: GM leaves for MSU-M. Colton St. Clair had the title Asst GM/Asst HC but they've named a new GM (not St Clair) and the website now only lists him as Asst HC. And the USHL Fargo HC job is open. Dude that'll make the hire? Fargo GM Cary Eades. Interesting times.
  12. Just in private post-game assessment/critique of officials.
  13. One last (unpleasant) thought: When the OVC took MSOC in house (no more Summit affiliates) the Summit really couldn't stand to lose a MSOC program. Then the OVC got WIU. Summit in peril. And there's that OVC name again. If the MVC were to suddenly go looking for a BB and baseball school and target ORU I'd be beyond paranoid. I'd know.
  14. In light of that, ... this would be so deliciously awesome. Thank you Tim Hennessy for that jocularity to start a long weekend.
  15. Good news for hockey fans: Saturday night hockey. Bad news for western conference fans: Florida gets another day of ... cat nap.
  16. Do not fear the BU Terrorists ... oops, I mean ... Terriers. (Neighbor's dog has me confuse those at times.)
  17. Don Adam is gone. His greatest on-ice moment:
  18. Bennett on Slavin. That hit will be out of the game soon enough.
  19. After the hit he took from Sam Bennett, I'm pretty sure Jake Slavin knows how Dr. Strange felt.
  20. Who in their right mind gives Marco more power.
  21. Not exactly ...
  22. < goes to window > < looks for other signs of apocalypse >
  23. 2LW not 3C? That means not just an eight game heater, but blowout-outs, no OTs!
  24. It's not really his war. The Summit was collateral damage. The MVC forced Murray into the MVFC by making promises without talking to the Dakota 4 first. (That's what set off NDSU back in the day.) They also knew WIU was fragile and would backfill the OVC. (Strategic and tactical moves by MVC.) WIU leaving made MVFC at 12 back to 11, and now 6 (a standing majority) MVC members <- power shift. The fact that WIU leaving for the OVC would also harm the Summit was a bonus, a distraction from the MVFC power dynamic shift. But as with any change, it is opportunity. Let's see what Fenton does with it. I'd like to see him call out the MVC and what their intentions are. Then act accordingly.
