Nice try. Riverbend is closed for the season.

Sweet. If that's how it works, "Go Cavalry" because that glorifies the bloody ignorance and arrogance of Custer at Little Big Horn.

Nope. Not good enough. I don't need some Picasso-wannabe-modernistic-neo-interpretist thing. And I don't need someone with a theme like Van Gogh in his "dark phase. And I really don't like water colors unless they're for nature or landscape scenes. I want the real deal: I need to know where to be with my camera to get a photo of this (alleged) UND "mascot".

They were stars in the sky? Was that some consolation for them?

"AccountingStu". Is that "hostile and abusive" to accountants? If so, what about the Rensselaer "Engineers" or worse, the Purdue "Boilermakers" (a derogatory term for mechanical engineers). Don't tick off those two groups. They'll mess with your financial records and your anti-lock brakes.

I said "I love some ... ". Wikipedia is as trusted of a source as, well, as what you believe a word to mean.
-
OK, I have my Polaroid at the ready: Where is it so I too can take a "picture" of this "mascot"?

Not ridiculous at all when you consider what "Corella" was responding to, namely (emphasis added): You need to wheel out the numbers to back up that assertion. My numbers say "Total Revenues of all Sports, except football and basketball, combined" (men and women combined) exceed "Total Expenses of all Sports, except football and basketball, combined" (men and women combined). Given that the vast majority of the revenue is mens hockey (11000+ fans per game for 20+ games) and a non-insignificant part of the expenses has to be all of the other teams (swimming and diving, baseball, softball, tennis, soccer, volleyball, golf, track, cross-country) I'd say I have a basis to be skeptical (disbelieve?) your assertion until you prove it.

Back to the basics kids: If "Fighting Sioux" is "hostile and abusive" to American Indians, remove the name and replace it with the name of the greatest enemy of the Sioux. Thus by the protesters' own logic you'll be "hostile and abusive" to that group: a double win -- "protecting" the Sioux; "abusing" their enemy. Go Cavalry. Who's signing up to be the first "William T. Sherman" mascot?

I love some of the things in Wikipedia under mascot: Gee, listed as two separate and distinct entities ... Where's the NCAA regarding a "Saxon" moniker? Oh, yeah, same place as "Irish" and "Vandal".

This one really deserves a thread of its own:

NDSU WBB (home) v. IPFW: 736 UND WH (home) v. UM-Duluth: 247 "650" indeed.

I believe it's gone to: Pre-game: must be FSC member During game: open to public

Worried about keeping ice at -20F overnight?
-
It's easy to criticize something that you're not even in the game with. And the women have won at home and on the road this season. Step on the ice and see how it goes for you. No, wait. I thought hockey didn't matter.

North Club Room. South Club Room.

For this reason, assuming they hold onto a regional #1 seed, I'd love to be seeded in their region.
-
The only reason I bring up FSN-N is that they've grabbed FSN-Rocky Mountain (DU coverage) and run it in the past. To me, in the perfect world, FSSN would barter signals with every other local carrier so we could see all the games.

I can't resist any longer (because someone pointed it out to me): Wasn't the week this story "broke" sweeps week for local television?
-
And wasn't Smaby there as well? And a Boston College lad or two? EDIT: Why yes they were .... http://siouxsports.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=1402 ... and from that thread no less:

You've been watching Jack McCoy on "Law and Order" again, haven't ya.

I'm not an attorney, I don't play one on TV, and I didn't even stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night, but I'm pretty sure it has to do with what the definition of "is" is.

Let me try this part: I sent this to a friend who looks at drawings like this all day. Their impression: Someone may have been trying to get the slant on all the rooflines (corners of ramp towers) to "line up" by "lifting up" on one corner of the roofline of the east tower and in the process distorted the south face of the tower.
