  1. Bison Dan is really Najla Amundson: staff directory.
  2. And we thank you. NDSU has always wanted into the BTC. Well, congrats, you're in the Bus Trip Conference. Seems Montana, the big dog of the pack, is happy we're in the Big Sky.
  3. SUU was to appease the travel cost wing of the Big Sky. UND was to appease the conference presidents that wanted a research university with nationally known professional schools. And USD ... well, I've posted my thoughts on that already: the MVFC flinched, just like Fullerton expected. And NDSU ... well, maybe we'll help little brother get in the BSC someday. But that day won't come for a while because of their buyouts with Summit and MVFC if they go before 2015. And I foresee a "MAC-like" FBS conference in the west in the future when the research-wing of the BSC is all ready to jump.
  4. What draws crowds? - meaningful games - good opponents - wins - not playing on "bad" dates (like hunting openers) And making the Alerus staff friendly wouldn't hurt either.
  5. The Border Patrol loves the location of GFAFB. They can fly Predators and some day Reapers out of there to patrol the northern border. That will help keep that facility on-line.
  6. From the linked article above ...
  7. I'll say it again ... for Montana to go FBS it'll take: - 22 FB scholarships - 22 womens scholarship (Title IX) - adding two womens sports* *They only sponsor 14 sports today and it takes 16 to play at FBS, with either a 7M/7F or 6M/8W split.

  9. Found this in the Twitter feeds on the front page:
  10. The soccer team is playing for a GW championship today. Any updates?
  11. Jeff Kolpack on WDAY-AM on Saturday morning stated that SIU voted for USD into the MVFC only after they got assurances that they'd only have to make one conference trip to a Dakota school (NDSU, SDSU, USD) per season. Knowing that, why would they schedule UND?
  12. And don't schedule home games on hunting season opening weekends. Folks, when the team wins, and looks dominant, people show up. There's the other key.
  13. The only time I smiled yesterday was when Sweeney reminded me he's just a sophomore.
  14. Offensive coordinator at SIU. Previously head coach at USF.
  15. Folks, today we're sending teams from NJIT to Cal Poly! I heard Faison on with Dan Hammer. He said the BSC is a wash at worst. Having known travel destinations (conference) makes scheduling and dealing for rates far easier. If Faison says the BSC travel cost is no worse than today I believe him.
  16. Kolpack wears a green and yellow pleated skirt with matching pom-poms. What else would you expect him to come up with?
  17. There you go again thinking rationally and logically and asking questions that reporters and media should be asking. We'll have none of that non-sense around here young man.
  18. I like this concept. - Play your four rivals for 2H and 2A games per year. - You see your rivals twice home and twice road in four years as it should be. - Play the other eight on a rotating basis where over four years you see each of the eight once at home and once on the road. That concept should make the west coast schools happy as they'd only be going to GF once every four years (assuming UND wouldn't have a west coast rival). From a travel POV, yes, the most cost effective rivals (for them) for UND would be UNC, ISU, UM, and MSU.
  19. Yup, and yup. Don't forget DU and Omaha. Those four (NDU, DU, UNO, UND) as a core would have just about the same power ranking as a BTCH in the average year. (PS - That BTCH is intentional, call it the Big Ten Conference for Hockey or UND's BTCH for short. ) Now you're just suckin' up to me. Never truer words posted.
