No, the day was August 5, 2005. In reality, FSU, Utah, and CMU are on life-support, dangling by the string called "the whims of tribal politics". Or worse, dangling by the string called "what will the NCAA do next?" (aka the whims of academia-minded groupthinkers). The NCAA could decide to drop the "exception policy" tomorrow and they'd be stuck. As much as this feels terrible, I'd rather deal with it now instead of continually be swingin' in the wind on a string.

If Akron really did that, I guess I know why they call their teams the Zips. That's how much common sense they have: Zip.

I think UND picked their poison and decided to focus on 8, not the brother 13. It wasn't good on the old GI tract to watch 13 do the damage, but UND survived it ... twice.

Mario had a better game Friday, when he was on the wing. But Rowney was losing too many faceoffs Friday at center, so Hak swapped them. Mario was better on faceoffs on Saturday but didn't have as good of an overall game. I know the solution: Carter -- work on taking draws!

Part of JMU at NDSU will come down to whether or not one side can get up two scores and really start to dictate pace. If it's NDSU, I don't seem JMU having comeback offense. If it's JMU, they'll grind the clock and it'll put pressure onto that bad turf-toe of the NDSU QB as NDSU will be forced to throw.

What happened? UND tie and then WIU hit 3, or classic BB where 0:19 seconds takes 30 minutes and 20 free throws.

They call that "style points". It's a misnomer.

EKU would seem to be the better matchup for NDSU. EKU seems "lighter" and would probably be easier to push around and run against.

What were they doing? Being servicable to solid role players. Just like guys like Ryan Martens, or Tom Benson, or Mike LaMoine, or Mario Lamoureux (some legacies, some not). UND's team style needs those guys. And if you can get them to come in with little to no scholarship impact, isn't that a good thing?
