Ah yes, but what if the other team (Sioux) is no longer the other team? Then when you use the term Sioux you aren't referring to the other team, so you must be referring to the other meaning, namely SL and SR. And that's precisely what the NCAA does not want.

If UND no longer has a moniker, if NDSU fans use that term they must be referring to people from SL and SR. Personally I hope NDSU fans chant their favorite chant. Then I'll be contacting the NCAA and demanding that they enforce their nice little blurb read before games about " ... racist taunts ... not being acceptable ... and ground for removal ..." Heck, maybe I should give the NCAA a little heads-up now considering there's an NCAA playoff game (not involving UND even) where it'll probably be heard this weekend. Wouldn't that be a hoot.

With the NCAA you are precisely correct.

Call me cynical, but I don't believe the Alabama legislature will save UAH hockey, not while their beloved Tide is second to anyone in football (See: Les Miles' LSU Purple Kitties). UAH and UAB will always be poor step-children to Tuscaloosa. I expect to see Saunders here next year, along with Dell and Gothberg. (Maris is listed a junior, and he is eligibility-wise, but I believe he attended UND for a year before joining the hockey team and is probably on pace to graduate.) And yes, Saunders would be immediately eligibile after a transfer from a folding program. If he were to transfer otherwise he'd have to sit out a year and his five-year eligibility clock would run during the year. (You have five calendar years to complete four years of athletic competition.)

I've heard that Fargo wants it on the ND side (think: control) because the majority of local funds will come from Fargo sales taxes.

Given Portland State in 2012 is non-conference, and that PSU and UND will be in the same conference going forward, and that UND got $150k from UCA, I suspect (don't know) that the PSU game is a single game deal.

They should be recruiting the northern Alberta oil fields for workers for western ND/Bakken formation. Those guys would think they've moved to the equator.

Scholarships are one-year arrangements (contrary to what some will try to tell you). Did they earn it for their second year? Did they earn it for their third year? Did they earn it for their fourth year? Did they earn it for their fifth year? I think that's the same question in each case.

Many college teams are scheduling into 2018, 2019, and 2020 right now. Seriously. Finding something for 9 months from now is near impossible when teams are scheduling for 9 years from now.
