So, If I read that correctly, it's (going top down by title): Mussman - HC Mannausau - Associate HC, Defensive Coord Kotelnicki - Assistant HC, Special Teams Coord Breitbach - Assistant Coach, Offensive Coord then Boyd, Freund, Schleusser, Richter, Nurse, and Myers as Assistant Coaches.
-
Not surprised in the least at Mannausau getting the Associate HC title. He's earned it. A little surprised at the Assistant HC title for Kotelnicki, but then again, he's done more than enough with the special teams to ... {rest of post blocked by Kotelnicki's special teams unit, heck, they block everything else kicked their way }

I sure hope some MBB players see those FT expectations and start to fix it.

You're speculating on something that more than likely won't happen. The NCAA has given the Death Penalty once (SMU). They didn't give it to Miami or USC and probably could have. As I've said elsewhere, the PSU problems seem to be criminal and civil law. I don't see where PSU has violated any NCAA rules (unless the NCAA can come up with a way to claim "lack of institutional control" violations). So to your Big Ten concerns I say worry about it when it happens. One more note: If PSU is capable of this, what ugly skeletons are out there at other schools yet to be found? They won't admit it, but school presidents (the managers of the NCAA) know they're one scandal away from being a pariah like PSU. They'll make a lot of firm sounding statements about "concerns" but will they really drop the hammer knowing it could easily be them next time. How can I say that? They dropped the hammer on SMU, saw how devestating it was to SMU (20 years later they're still recovering), and haven't used that hammer since.

Apparently you never saw Tony Hrkac in his prime in 1986-87.

Let's expand on this theme: Minimum 30 attempts during season to be considered -- Best free throw shooter on team over or under 90% Worst free throw shooter on team over or under 51%

The "in the west" phrase has to be referencing the Geological Eng'g and Petroleum Eng'g programs. Those would be most valuable with outreach toward the Bakken.

You have that reversed. The UND fan ended up in the GF hospital after a punch from a UM fan.

There's a story on NDSU being "number 2" at GoBison.com. Might be a link there.

Define 'top levels'. Am I not receiving all my Coaches Club benefits?
-
I'm hoping the UND coaching staff and team are planning how to beat #5 and #6 in the pre-season poll during the regular season.
-
The defending champs not at #1 and the team they beat is at #1? That should put some knickers into a twist about 80 miles south of UND.
-
As I've said, womens hockey is cheaper than defending against a Title IX lawsuit.
-
You stopped at being on the base dance team; you didn't read far enough ...
-
Uh ... yes, UND does. Last time I saw them they really, ... uh ... well ... uh ... , they're getting better.
-
Really want to puke? Here's one of the attorneys the NCAA used in ND during the settlement agreement period. Look at the wonderful things he's gone on to do: - Get elected as a judge in Cass County - Sexually harass a subordinate http://www.grandforksherald.com/event/article/id/240455/

The problem is Congress* and the Federal law called Title IX which mandates schools offer equivalent opportunities for mens and womens sports. Call your Congressman. The other option is to ignore Title IX and be taken to task by the Federal Justice Department. Hint: Womens hockey is cheap compared to that. * Title IX is Federal law, not an NCAA rule or policy.

If college athletics programs, sport by sport, had to be fiscally self-sustaining, how many would exist? I'm guessing a few FB programs, some MBB programs, a couple WBB programs, a couple mens hockey programs, and not much else. So in all honesty, everything else, 90% or more of college athletics, is a "money pit".

I thought I read that Hakstol became an American citizen and now has a US passport.

I'm thinking Vandrovec got the idea for that article about ticket sales and revenues from reading ... this thread, specifically the nice work and analysis done by FSSD (posts 69, 70, and beyond).

Is that like wrestling neutralizes a lot of money at some schools?

Seriously? A reaper is a harvester. First it was a person with a scythe; then it was a machine by McCormick. Those built the basis of this state. Today it's a UAV. For all of history it's been the image of the one we'll all meet sooner or later. There's centuries, not "trendy". Ultimately, you don't like the idea because it's something worth a look. As far a "Flickertails", in today's marketing driven world that won't work, too similar, with the "Midas-touched rodetia" immediatelly to the state's east. Again, to those that like North Stars, hey consider it, but also consider it's the state motto of Minnesota. (And I do believe the NHL ownership group in Dallas still owns that name.) As far as Rough Riders, Lt. Col. T. Roosevelt was a "Rough Rider". Who's he? Just the the guy who said, "I would have never been President if not for my time in North Dakota." You may have heard of that guy. There's only a National Park in the state named for him.
